Ladies,

Prior to my wife's monthly she gets pimples on her labia. These are the type with a pussy head and naturally quite uncomfortable and painful to squeeze. Each one will only last for a day or so and usually appear one at a time but last for a couple of days. When she does squeeze them they clear up quickly but remain uncomfortable until they do.

She is early 40's 2 kids.

Anyone else have experience this and if what do you do - she mentioned it to her Dr casually but it was put down to hormonal imbalance etc

thanks in advance

I'd agree with her Dr.
BUT,
If you are in doubt I'd go see a Gyno.
Women of that age are not unknown to have early onset menopause especially if the women of her family have had menopause at an earlier than average age.
When she get's these pimples she needs to get swaps and possibly skin scrapes done of the affected area to see if it isn't some form of V.D.

vaginal pimples aren't normal. i don't think i've ever had one in my life. if these pimples of hers become enflamed every so often and then go away after a few days, they probably aren't pimples. instead of going to a regular family doctor, she should see a obgyn as well as a dermatologist.

Hpv wouldn't come and go as the OP stated. Herpes could very well be the cause, but even then a monthly outbreak is uncommon for herpes.

Hpv doesn't have anything to be squeezed out of it. Herpes usually doesn't last for a day either. Sounds inconclusive for either, but I'm just a medical student, not a doctor so a proper diagnosis would be anyone best guess.

I didn't think herpes could be "popped" like a pimple though... Can they?

Yes they can.
They form little pustules that can be ruptured.

The best time to get a swab or a skin scrape is before they rupture and dry out.

Yes they can be popped, but HPV cannot. It's usually very painful and causes spreading in certain scenarios. But everyone's different along with outbreaks so the best time is right when one pops up, but right before it ruptures.

Folks,

Thanks for the replys -

Just to clarify

- They appear about the same time each month and ONLY on the labia minor no where else
- Usually only 1 or 2 at a time and only last a couple of days - clear up as if never been there.
- When popped - clear up like a facial pimple
- Not likely herpes - first appeared a year or so - she tells me there is no one else - no reason to doubt -Yeah OK I know but - the cheques in the mail LOL
- Only trims and waxes and don't appear to be the same type of in grown bump etc - anyway they dont appear in those areas anyway
- We have always had regular unprotected sex, incl oral (married 17yrs) I've never noticed anything usual - and yep she's the only one - promise
- Dr didnt seem too concerned - but I wasnt there, and not Dr's bits to worry about.

I was wondering if any other ladies got these as well.

Yep sounds gross I'm still 'LMFAO'- but hey that's the nature of this board if we cant chat about stuff like this - well - go sit in a dark room by yourself with your hands on your head and see how long you can go without touching yourself, I'm sure there's some record to attempt- your comments are suggestive of some form of cognitive developmental delay and you perhaps need to seek professional weekly advice and treatment. LOL - maybe 'club penguin' is more appropriate for you. - only jokes
