Can Varicocele effect your health without you actually knowing about it? Like for example I think this is normal to me but someone else says that's totally not what it should be?

Doctor diagnosed that I've Varicocele but since I said I don't really feel like it's effecting me or being sore etc. He said it doesn't need to do anything about it.

has anyone had Varicocele and got it fixed? any changes after that?

I found out I have a varicocele on my left testicle a few months ago. I was at the endocrinologist because I have low testosterone and they found it when they did a testicular exam. They said mine didn't seem big enough to be the cause of my low T but I still wonder because they've done just about every test and can't figure out why my testosterone suddenly dropped a couple years ago. The backed up blood from the varicocele can cause too much heat around the testicle and/or too little oxygen and damage it. If you can get it fixed I would consider it. For me it's probably too late because once it damages the testicle it normally doesn't get much better from surgery.

Just a disclaimer: Out of all the research I've done on low T and related issues, I've researched little on varicoceles so I may not be completely accurate. To be safe, I'd say to get a second opinion and see if the other doctor thinks it should be fixed or not.

Good luck! :)

they didn't tell me anything about that it could damage the testicle itself..I've had it for several years so..that's not good?

I don't think the length of time has much to do with it. Some people have it and never have any problems but sometimes it can get worse. If you are having any pain or symptoms of low testosterone I'd suggest getting your testosterone levels checked to make sure it isn't dropping. Otherwise it's very possible for it to never cause a problem. I think it's just hard to predict which ones will get worse. :/
