I recently had a vasectomy and it was the worst thing I have ever been through. Local anesthetic doesn’t work well on me and I basically felt the whole procedure. The doctor seemed to rush because of this and really did a hack job. A day after the procedure my balls swelled up to the size of a grapefruit and the stitch broke. My wife butterflied it back together everyday until it healed. I was out of commission for 10 days. I don’t want to discourage anyone from getting it done (It was worth it for me) but I felt men need to know what can happen and be prepared. Anyone else have a vasectomy horror story?

Wow, I am sorry that you had this experience. I cannot imagine how it must have been for you.

May I ask what prompted you to opt for a vasectomy?

Had one years ago and I agree. It's not as easy as they make it out to be. When he cut the cord it was like being kicked in the the nuts. My balls swelled up something horrible and turned blue then black. I went back and showed them to the doctor. He laughed and said "They are not going to fall off" I was like well let your nuts turn black and see if it's so funny

I dunno that I would call mine a horror story. What happened, I’m pretty sure, was completely my fault.

I took Ibuprofen two days before the op. I almost never take meds, but I had a raging headache and nothing would help. So I took some. I forgot that I was specifically told not to take any pain meds one week leading up to the surgery. And they even asked me when I got to the hospital if I had taken any in the last week and I said no. I genuinely forgot at the time since, like I said, I never take any. As I was waiting for the doc, I remembered but I figured it wasn’t that big of a deal and I really didn’t want to reschedule the procedure (had to take time off work). Little did I know that the pain med I took is a blood thinner...

The procedure took longer than normal since there was some internal bleeding which the doc had to take care of. He said it was fortunate he caught it during the procedure or it could have been much worse. But it still wasn’t great. Swelling was much worse. One of my balls was more than double its normal size. Healing time was doubled. But the worst part is that, after all the healing was done, one of my balls starting shrinking. The shrinking is done, but now one of my balls is considerably smaller than the other (one the size of a small egg, the other slightly larger than a grape). It’s just a cosmetic issue. I’ve had an ultrasound of the testicles and bloodwork done to check testosterone levels. So I’m still healthy, and I doubt anyone but wife will notice unless someone is seriously checking me out at the gym locker room. But I still don’t like it. If I had to do it over, I honestly still would. Wife can’t be on birth cause it screws with her hormones. The condomless sex is worth it to me.

As I wrote in a different thread...

I had mine done 20 yrs ago. There is less volume and a lower viscosity (which hasn’t bothered me). The the thing that has bothered me is 70% of the time my left nut hurts and 5% of the time it is debilitating. Good luck and happy shooting blanks.

The procedure was fine though not much fun.

For about 3 months I felt like I’d been tapped in the balls.

I got a minor infection in one and had a lump, I had to get an ultrasound.

Other than that I have a bit of an ache sometimes, and it’s worse when I get hard of after I ejaculate.

It hurt like hell when they clipped the cords and then again when they cauterize the ends. Balls swelled up like a grapefruit and turned black.
I went back to the doctor and showed him. He laughed at me and told me they weren't going to fall off .
Easy for him to say, they weren't his . They were super sensitive for years afterwards. They are fine now. That's been over 40 years ago, after my Son was born. He's 43 now

Mine seemed to go ok. Had a female doctor do it(my family doctor). She hit me with a shot that stung a little but not bad. I felt the tugging and a cut but that was it. Took about 20 minutes. Small bandage and back home. No side effects. Its great to be able to shoot freely into women and not worry about pregnancy.

I knew a guy that was a military corrections specialist as an MP ("cage kickers" in military vernacular); he had a vasectomy done and went back to work shortly after his medical profile expired (bed rest). He was supposed to be on "light duty" but because of his attitude he always liked to show what hot shit he was especially when the opportunity arose to do some MMA like shit.

The second day after going back to work he volunteered to be part of a response team to remove an uncooperative prisoner from his cell. Mister MMA started scuffling with the inmate, during the course of the apprehension said guard was kicked in the balls. After he finished puking his guts out, his balls swelled up the size of melons.

After he went back into the doc to get the jewels looked at 24 hours + later he was admitted and went straight to emergency surgery.

Ended up losing one of the balls and came close to losing both.

After I heard his and later his ex-wife's version of the story I swore off ever getting the operation.

Had mine in November. The procedure was fine. They told me 2 weeks I'd be 100 percent.

Stitches popped first erection I'm a grower, probably why.
Anyway it took 10 weeks to feel normal again.
I'm good to go now.

I had a vasectomy at a military hospital, the doctor looked like he was 14. I'm 6 ft 5", they put me in an open area on a short hospital bed covered by a curtain. The operation took about 3 hrs, 2 hrs in the anesthetic started wearing off, I asked for more and they didn't give me any, "we are almost done". Half the time when walking around the bed they ran into my feet and jostling the clamps and incisions which had me yelling at them each time. In basic training I'd gotten an infection in my balls and couldn't get the clinic to take it seriously (they thought I was faking to get out of duty), the infection turned my vas deferens into a mass of scar tissue; 12 years later the inexperienced doctor couldn't figure out what was what and had trouble finding and cutting the vas deferens which is why the vasectomy took so long. there was a lot of ancillary trauma from the operation so afterward I was laid up for longer than normal..

One kind of odd side effect of mine...if you could call it that...when i start getting the urge to cum i get a slight ache in my balls. Not a painful hurt just a slight ache. After i cum it goes away and its all good. Doctor said as long as it didnt hurt it was nothing to be concerned about.
