Hi guys, a question for those who have had a vasectomy, if you dont masturbate do you still get really horny after a few days? And have you had any wet dreams since? Im considering a vasectomy but would like to know these answers. Thank you for helping me.

I had my vasectomy over thirty years ago, after the birth of our second daughter. I can honestly say that it never had any effect whatsoever on my sex drive or my enjoyment of sex. I have always liked to edge and it didn't change this. I still wake nearly every day with morning wood. And, as my wife once proclaimed, it even tastes the same as it did before!
Just be sure in your own mind that having it done is right for you and your circumstances.

I had a vasectomy more than 34 years ago after the birth of our second son.

As I recall, I was encouraged by the doctor to masturbate post-op in order to clear out any lingering "swimmers". And, I can say without a doubt, a vasectomy had ZERO impact on my sex drive. If anything, it remained any worry about having sex with my wife knowing that she wouldn't get pregnant again.

You know the only difference I have seen in having mine is the sperm, less of it and a very different consistency, anyone else?
No I can't say that it made any difference in mine. I think something like 98% of semen is produced in glands that are after the vasectomy tie off point. The 2% of sperm you are stopping shouldn't be noticeable. But, I guess there are always exceptions.

There was no change in my sex drive. There also was no change in the volume or look of my ejaculate. It was great to know that I wasn't able to get anyone pregnant again. The procedure want even that big of a deal. She was fairly gentle. The worst part was getting the shot..after that just feel some tugging and pulling. Have it on a Friday and take it easy the rest of the weekend and no problems.

Since only the tubes carrying the sperm from the testes is being cut, your balls are still producing testosterone and a vasectomy won't cause any physical change in arousal; unlike when dogs & cats are fixed. Not masturbating or having sex for a few days will still increase horniness; at least in those guys who are younger and/or had a high libido to begin with. Any diminishment will be in the first few days afterwards as you likely won't feel like having sex till things completely heal and any change later on I think can only be due to psychological factors or the doctor screwing something up.

Wet dreams in my experience are based on other factors and will have nothing to do with a vasectomy either. For me, I haven't had one since I discovered masturbation and long before I was snipped, regardless of how aroused I was either before going to bed or while sleeping. So if you are still having them despite regularly jerking, I see no reason why they won't continue.

The only immediate difference afterwards was when I started coming again. The first few times there wasn't much volume and it ran out like a facet rather then any squirts and was somewhat uncomfortable. But after the first few times, everything was back to normal and I noticed zero difference in volume, appearance and shooting ability or arousal levels. Any changes over the years in all those areas I contribute to aging and other incidental factors and not the vasectomy.

Like others have mentioned, what it did have a profound effect on was my piece of mind. It felt liberating in a way to know there was no risk of unintended pregnancy and my wife no longer had to risk her health by relying on the pill and if anything, it made sex more frequent :). It also was an asset years later when we were in the Lifestyle since I knew there was no chance of getting anyone else pregnant as well; even if a lot of the ladies I had sex with were older and postmenopausal.

To me it is interesting that several people have commented that their sex lives have picked up after having one. I wonder for how many of these, their wives were previously using some form of hormonal contraceptive. My suspicion is that this less to do with feeling less anxious about sex and more about hormonal contraception partially suppressing the sex drive.

Exactly.

Oral contraception can decrease a woman's libido. My wife and i def had more sex after my vasectomy and she went off the pill

I had one this summer. Nothing changes. Nothing. Cum the same volume, sex drive is the same, morning wood etc. nothing changes

I am still a little sore on the sides, where my ball sack attaches to my leg/body, but that’s it. Probably because I didn’t wait to have sex and jerk off as long as they said.

I had a Vasectomy earlier this year, am sure I'm even hornier than I was before, which I didn't think was possible.

I'd say my cum seems thicker, but apart from that, no other differences.

I'd say make sure you cum a lot before you go in for it, the days after when your not allowed to cum are hell!

It didn't change my sex drive at all once I got mine about two years ago. I think I cum more because I'm no longer mentally holding back and fearing that my nut could knock someone up, but besides having peace of mind and a bit more confidence, there's been no change to my levels of horniness.
