Hey guys, i have a question i'm hoping you might help me answer. Today i noticed that there's this thin vein on the head of my penis close to the tip (the front, facing up at me) that wasn't there last week. You cant really tell it's there when my penis is flaccid, unless you sort of thin the skin out, but looking at it closely there's a slight protrusion of it on the right side of the head even it its not thinned out. When erect its much more noticeable, but still not shockingly obvious, and it seems like there is a darker spot at the end of the vein by the tip, almost like the smallest bump.

Any ideas what this is, something caused by masturbation? I don't jelq or do any PE. Will it go away after a few days or do i need to do something. Cold pack, warm compress, leave it alone? Thanks.

Pictures are perfect, shows up
Wouldnt have a clue Matey?
Dont know if you could call it a vein tho?
Let us know what the results are, dont think its of concern (ONLY a thought)
MAYbe we all have similar ( or some of us), just that we dont examine so closely?
Geuss if it does not cause discomfort then it could well be OK

Cheers to you for bringing it to our attention ..

something caused by masturbation?

at least, i can add and say
i think thats quite ridiculous .. you would possibly be the only person in the World, if Masturbation caused such?

I'll start with my disclaimer: I'm not a physician and only your physician can verify something is wrong.

That being said, if it doesn't hurt and doesn't bother you other than cosmetically it looks perfectly normal. Remember, the way you get erections is by blood filling up your penis, including the glans, and the blood has to have some way of getting there. It may just be more pronounced than it has been in the past for various reasons.

Looks like a small varicose vein kinda thing. There is one on mine on the underside sometimes but not that big. Haven't though anything of it.

Firstly, just as Idontknow103 says, I'm no GP and if you are concerned the best thing is to go see him / her for peace of mind. Not sure if you'll see in my pics but I have a vein on my glans but this I know as the result of using a cock ring that was too small... realised after the event :-/ I did go to the GP as my vein looks more as if something has popped (!) but only shows when I am hard. The GP told me that the penis is made up of veins and these things happen with vigorous sex / masturbation etc firm grip etc and not to worry but it was un nerving when it first happened! Again, if it worries you, check it out with your GP ;-)

I just got the same condition of protruding veins on my glans. Mine are right near the urethra and actually go directly on the main face of the glans, the one you see looking down at your penis. I have multiple branching veins. Anyone know if the OP had his vein issue resolved? It sucks, its very noticeable on mine.

Welcome to the site first of all, that member in question has been long banned 6 years ago. Admins back then were always good at catching either SR_ accts or prev banned members, which seems to be the case here. But I agree with some of the advice to seek professional advice.

thanks, I found the post through an internet search. I have, I went to my GP and he said it was just veins, no sign of any type of infection, fungus, bacteria, STD, or anything. He said to come back in a month or so. It's just so weird it just popped up out of nowhere. He did ask if I was straining a lot and I did confirm that I have been working out pretty hard with a lot of core work recently. Potentially could be a cause, not sure yet.

Nice, that is a rarity of it happening, but I'm not surprised this site was generated through your search engine. This place covers just about everything, including politics. Hope to see you around the boards if you decide to give the community a shot. There are plenty of good folks to interact with and forums to participate in. Rule of thumb and just in general, be respectful to be respected.

Take it easy hitting the gym, unless you tryna end up with a HULK-amania dick  Keep us posted with your analysis.

Thanks Matt. I'm kind of bummed just because who the F gets branching veins on their glans?! It's definitely something girls will notice and I haven't been sexually confident since it popped up. Seriously, you see these type of veins on the back of your hands mostly or wrists but on the tip of your dick? C'mon. Btw I have veins on the sides of my shaft but my glans was smooth and normal til a few weeks ago. I guess I could 'take pride' in the fact I was working out so hard I grew veins on the tip but come on dude.
