If you consider this "breath taking" you have not been paying attention over the last 2 years. Yes, they are looking at the entire system. Something he campaigned on, agree with it or not (personally I don't), and had vast support for. The term to describe the targets of these memos (assuming they are as reported in this article) is not "immigrant families" or "unauthorized immigrants" or "undocumented immigrants". The tern is, was, and shall continue to be "Illegal immigrants". It is a crime for them to be present. Every day an illegal immigrant is present in United States they are committing a crime. Unless the person or persons are fleeing their home country due to a death squad hunting them down for some reason, their status as being here illegally is all the reason needed to deport them.

Until all sides agree that immigrants who are in the country illegally are committing a deportable crime by their mere presence, no honest debate can be had on this issue. If you conflate illegal immigrants and immigrants, you are starting from a false premise.

Fake news, no. Emphasizing opinion over fact to elicit outrage from outrage addicts, yes.
