I have jacked with one of my friends who is about 8x5 and compared to his, mine looks like a tree trunk, but when it's by itself, it doesn't look nearly as thick. There is a thread on here about perception of size and what makes a dick "large." For those of us blessed with long dicks, it takes a lot more thickness to look thick, eventhough we are thick. Is the shaft the same thickness along the whole length? I think all these could factor in two ways. How easily a thick cock can be accomdated and it's visual perception of thickness.

I agree longelephantballs that measuring at the thickest part should be considered the cock's girth. As you pointed out, that's the spread required of the receptor regardless of the cylindrical shape. Any other method is nitpicking at its extreme.
