I'm too lazy to check but I believe tags can be blocked/ignored as well. When I was tinkering with my settings to block everything a long while ago, I think I remember that being an option. I found I was being tagged for obnoxious things way more often than not . I think the only thing I didn't block was alerts to when someone has replied to one of my posts.
