This question may have been addressed but with the 'search function' removed I need to ask.
Is there any downside physical effects from using these sex toys. Due to covid19 isolation etc. and missing company I recently purchased the We-vibe Vector vibrating prostate massager to see if prostate massaging would give me firstly an erection and following that if I could have a hands free orgasm. I'm happy to say both have been obtained.

To get to the point of the question the damn thing is just so addictive I can barely keep it out of my butt. By that I mean I'm using it till the battery goes flat - over two hours a session. The vibrations are right inside up against the prostate itself.
Presently I use it in the mornings and late at night in bed I even fell asleep with it in me !
Like many guys when I was younger used to masturbate a LOT and it never did any damage. So I am wondering can this toy do any damage from prolonged usage ?

Use of any kind of inserted vibrator can eventually irritate membranes, both from the friction and the insertion as well as from the vibration itself. Damaged and inflamed tissue can be further exacerbated by vibration and friction. And don't let lube fool you, there's still friction happening, it's just reduced by the lube... if there were no friction, you wouldn't feel anything.

If anything hurts, is sore or tender for a prolonged period, or feels the least bit irritated, stop and don't use it for a while (give it a day or two). You should also be cleaning it regularly and letting it air dry.

Have fun, but don't go overboard!

I’m no doctor! But I have to agree with your post. Like the old saying, too much of anything is never good for the body!
