I can't do anything past Light difficulty ... Paranoia and Afronova are currently the banes of my existance. I ain't going anywhere near MAXX Unlimited, either ....
[post=267848]Quoted post[/post]

Yeah. I played DDR for the first time at a friend's house during his (yawn) dinner party, and I got more hooked than I imagined. I got DDRMAXX 2. Still working through Beginner levels for all the songs and I'll get into Light mode eventually.

MAXX Unlimited=the jitter dance! (I can do 300, and Unlimited only if I get ready for it 3 days in advance, and i'm in the arcade, with sneakers)

Or a Dark Knight's armor. Personally I didn't like the idea of changing classes in combat; you're supposed to balance your classes (e.g., pick a tank, a healer, and a nuker) before a battle.

Perhaps. I can agree with you there a bit. That, and I kinda cheesed the last boss battle when I had Paine as my Dark Knight casting Darkness at every round while Rikku was healing her. I had Yuna on healing support/attack power with Alchemist.

Though, I'll say this -- if I could change clothes that easily, I wouldn't be late half the time. :p

I am surprised that Intheloop was the only one to mention Halo. Astually I get addicted to any RPG or first person shooter. Also who plays on xbox live and what do you play?

All time fav games;
Halo 1 & 2
Half-Life 1 & 2
Legend of Zelda
Counter-Strike (all versions on all platforms)
all the Bond games
Ghost Recon

The list goes on and on and I couldnt leave Mario Kart and Fusion Frenzy out for best party games when you have alot of people over.

I was just thinking, it has been a long time since I last posted.

I just got "Star Wars: Battlefront" for Christmas and I really like it. I usually don't get into the RPGs that much, but the gameplay and sound and visuals are just great. Doesn't hurt that I'm a fan of the movies. Really looking forward to Gran Turismo 4.

A few months ago I bought a Gameboy Advance SP only because I noticed that "Legend of Zelda" could be played on it. That was the first game I bought with my NES back in the day and the Gameboy version is almost exactly the same. It even slows down on screens with a lot of characters, just like the original. Good times.

Also have Mario Kart, Super Mario 3, and Metroid Fusion. I'm angling for another racer, maybe an F-Zero game or a motorcycle one. I heard that MotoGP is pretty good.

Well, I used to be a "heavy" gamer, but I've slowed down because of my studies...
Work first...:p

I used to play first on Game Boy (in early 90s), then on NES, SNES, N-64, then on PC and PS2. Now I sometimes play on PC but no more to other consoles.

(and there are emulators for SNES and GB on PC, so I use them for old games ;) )

My favourite games are :
Command & Conquer : Red Alert (1 and 2) and Tiberian Sun
Total Annihilation
Emperor : Battle for Dune
Simcity 3k and 4
All the Zelda series
Zork Grand Inquisitor

Basically, I like adventure / strategy / management games. :-D

Right now I'm playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Really useful in doctor's offices or on buses. (Oh, here's an interesting challenge: Make everyone but Marche the same race.)

At the moment I'm playing:

Morrowind
GTA: San Andreas
Football Manager 2005
[post=273156]Quoted post[/post]

Meh, I never could get into Morrowind. Too much freedom for my taste. Also, I had enough of trying to find "Generic item #45 445" for "Generic NPC #4 952" in "Generic cave #685 434". Then again, that's just me.

Natural-Selection anytime tough :D

Oh, if you're interested, a lot of the games in '05 are going to incorporate role-playing elements. So be prepared to spend a lot of time leveling up.

Well, I know this is old school, but I haven't played THAT many video games. However, I DID play the Myst ones and I also played this really twisted take on "Alice in Wonderland" called (go figure) Alice. You really have to play those things enough to develop a special type of hand-eye coordination and I never really figured out what all the different weapons and things were supposed to be used for, but it was totally enjoyable just to walk around in the environment of the game and gawk at the amazing artwork and design that went into it. Based on that, I'm sure no one will be signing me up for their next Halo tournament. :lol:

Yes, DeeBT, that old chestnut. :lol: I also remember the horrible screams (or gurgles under water) when she died on your watch. Is a game still fun if it gives you nightmares?

Alice had that darkly hot British knife-wielding sweetness down, didn't she? :)

Nice, niiiiice guys. Shoutout to my fellow Halo fiends (I'm on Live as Deus X Boxina, bomb the base all nite long), and to that brave soul who somehow managed to quit Worlds Of Warcraft long enough to post on LPSG, I salute you. If only my laptop wasn't 800mhz and I wasn't chasing a diploma all day long and I had an extra couple hundred dollars and a high-end video card and..... damn.
Honestly though, Halo 2 is the only game I have the RAM/money/time to play these days.

Well, of course you wouldn't like X-2. I mean, the only yaoi I can see is BrotherxBuddy. LOL Oh, and maybe something involving Gippal, Baralai, and Nooj.

Seriously, though, I thought it was too Charlie's Angels, and for some reason Brother+Yuna is just wrong. Tactical RPGs are good for mission-based plot lines, but more classic RPGs aren't. (Of course, the whole idea of a videogame RPG can't hold a candle to a pen and paper one. You know, where the DM's actually sentient and therefore the story isn't as linear?) MMORPGs are nice if you have the time. I also didn't like the idea of being able to change classes in the middle of combat.

Oh, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is nice. For those of you who haven't played it, it's a type of tactical RPG where you're trying to return home, and along the way there are all kinds of fights. The difficulty is the law system; breaking laws results in penalties to your stats, loss of items or gold, or even incarceration if you do it twice in a battle; you can buy a pardon, though. (Oh, the morality we learn in FF.) Also, classes are restricted by race; I guess that's so I don't create a gunner/gladiator or sage/red mage combo. (Not that the game doesn't still have abusive combos.)
