Interestingly enough the Admin and I have already discussed the matter at length and have come to a general understanding. Perhaps the point of my post was missed, or perhaps I didn't actually state it clearly enough. Simply put, while I hold that everyone one is entitled to their opinion and to express it on any subject under the sun and should feel free to do so, it is my opinion that their time would be better served searching for topics that they have an appreciation for rather than a disdain.
Contrary to your assertion I wasn't touchy, annoyed or reactionary on any level. A door was opened and I chose to share my opinion, which as you have stated I am entitled to, and chastising me for doing so would be hypocritical.
At no point did I say "Fuck off if you don't like this thread", but rather was expressing that to enter a topic of conversation that you already know you won't like merely to express the fact that you don't like it doesn't serve any substantive purpose near as I can tell. If your feelings are to the contrary then you're asserting that I should go into every thread that I don't like in this forum or any other for that matter, tell people how much I hate that particular subject and that everyone whom enjoys said subject matter that their support of that subject will be the ruination of society. Now, I can assure you that that won't happen as I don't care to put myself into an otherwise avoidable situation wherein I know I won't feel comfortable merely for the purpose of expressing how uncomfortable I am.
Insofar as negativity goes, I can take it just fine thank you very much. I myself rise above negativity to express myself in a calm and mutually respectful manner such that my point is made, in as much as possible, with clarity and regard for others.
The Admin wasn't taking away anybody's rights, but rather was defending them, something I have a great deal of respect and admiration for. As stated earlier, it wasn't my intent to tell someone that they shouldn't have or express their thoughts or feelings on a particular subject but rather was intending to say that if you're not going to like something then perhaps your time would be better spent engaging in activities that you will in fact enjoy.
Personally speaking I know that I won't like running through a field of broken glass and would avoid doing so at all costs, opting rather to roll gleefully through a field of marshmallows. Same basic principal applies to threads and posts.
And quite honestly you're correct, I don't want political messages whilst engaging in the consumption of pornography, and I don't know anybody who does. It's like anti-viagra. Does that mean that I don't feel that the opinion is without merit or value? No, not at all. All it means is that I'd like to get off at some point, and simply put, politics doesn't do it for me.
And that's all I have to say about that.
