Vindictive and vampire-like liberals launched a witch hunt against Governor Palin shortly after she was thrust into the national stage with the VP nomination.

Now over ten frivolous charges have driven up the Governor's legal fees to over a half million dollars.

Palin's legal debts pile up: Gov. Sarah Palin | adn.com

Six of the charges have already been dismissed.

One of the charges involved Palin wearing a ski jacket to a snowmobile race in which a logo was on the ski jacket.

Another involved Palin getting reimbursement for approximately $6,000 in hotel and air travel expenses for her kids on business trips. Her understanding was that expenses related to family travel for business could be expensed.

The vicious liberal witch hunt is poised to force Palin into bankruptcy.

Aren't the liberals appeased that they now have the White House, the House and the Senate? Where will it end with the hatred and attacks from the crazed and frenzied left wing?

Sending an effective and successful public servant into bankruptcy because of political differences.

In the town next to the one in which I grew up, we had an inexpensive, historically sanctioned alternative to getting at the truth of these types of things. See, we would have strapped Caribou Barbie to a board and held her under water in a local pond. If she drowned, she was innocent; if she didn't, she really was a witch. Quick, simple and to the point and no unnecessary spending of taxpayer dollars. Ah, for the good old days.

The article also states that Palin was liable for reimbursing the state for her family's travel expenses and that she was found liable for troopergate. She's no angel.

I'm surprised her GOP supporters aren't helping her pay the expenses. You'd think that the party would have enough invested in her success to defend her from these charges. Guess it takes Republicans to abandon a Republican in her hour of need.

First off, the word "liberal" doesn't even appear in the article you sourced.
Second, you forget to mention that the investigation regarding Palin on this matter was voted upon and passed by a 12-0 margin... 8 of those voters are Republican. In fact, the only time the word "Democrat" was used is when they mentioned Sen. Hollis French as the person directing the investigation. Really, star... how can this be a vicious "liberal witch hunt" when there's more Republicans involved than Democrats? And really... bankruptcy? We all know that politicians don't go bankrupt. At least financially that is.

The votes are in, and this thread (along with many more of your anti-Democratic rants around here) has failed.

She did pay the $6K back. Its a shame to be forced into hundreds of thousands in foolish legal fees and jamming up courts for this type of nonsense.

FYI, the 'trooper' admitted to tasering an 11 year old stepson. What a guy.

I'm surprised her GOP supporters aren't helping her pay the expenses. You'd think that the party would have enough invested in her success to defend her from these charges. Guess it takes Republicans to abandon a Republican in her hour of need.

She will be starting a legal defense fund soon in which concerned Americans can assist in this atrocity.

Right - that vote was simply to investigate the complaint. It wasn't an indictment of guilt.

If you saw this excerpt from the article,

Friday evening that a CNN reporter who was live on the air Sept. 5 reported the Obama campaign reached out to Wooten through his union.

It was clear that Obama's thugs were behind the scenes in this story.

The votes are in, and this thread (along with many more of your anti-Democratic rants around here) has failed.

Not so much.

From October 6, 2008, at one of those wild, rambuctious Sarah Palin rallies:

--------------------

"Obama said, too, that our troops in Afghanistan are 'air raiding villages and killing civilians,'" Palin shouted, addressing the crowd and mischaracterizing a 2007 remark by Obama. "I hope Americans know that is not what our brave men and women in uniform are doing in Afghanistan. The U.S. military is fighting terrorism and protecting us and protecting our freedom!"

Shortly afterward, a male member of the crowd in Jacksonville, Florida, yelled "treason!" loudly enough to be picked up by television microphones.

The shout of "kill him" followed a Sarah Palin rant on Obama's relationship with radical Chicagoan Bill Ayers.

--------------------

Leave her to the wolves.

Serves her right for ruining the republican ticket. When palin was announced as a running mate, McCain's numbers went exactly like a high-diver: springing up first, then diving way down.

Right - that vote was simply to investigate the complaint. It wasn't an indictment of guilt.

And the investigation is still going. So, what's the problem here?

It was clear that Obama's thugs were behind the scenes in this story.

Well, if you REALLY want to make that stretch to demonize the Democrats, they can also point at the actions of the Republican base against Obama in regards to birth certificates to the campaign to deport one of his family members. And willtom27 already mentioned the hate mongering threats from her rallies during the 2008 election. I could go on, but I don't think it's necessary. Conservatives started the fire and the personal attacks, because that's the only thing they could do to try and sidetrack Obama during the election. This is just payback. Doesn't mean that it's good or bad, but if people like Palin didn't want this to happen she should have not fed into the propaganda in the first place.

Regardless of how you want to look at this, from a political or a moralistic angle, your conservative base shouldn't be crying foul right now. Especially if the goal is to push Palin for 2012 (which I pray she gets the nomination so that Tina Fey keeps a job and the current administration doesn't have to worry about getting another 4 years in the White House). But I guess cry is the only thing they can do now that they don't have any real power in congress anymore.

A couple weeks ago Palin was holding press conferences, indirectly telling Obama, "Thanks, but no thanks!" - and rejecting 45% of the stimulus money (while accepting 55%).

I see a new article, "Palin rejects over 30% of stimulus money" (so, she's now accepting almost 70% instead of 55%).

--------------------

from the article:

Palin is not taking about $288 million of the $930.7 million that Alaska is due in the federal stimulus. Palin said

The biggest single chunk of money that Palin is turning down is about $170 million for education, including money that would go for programs to help economically disadvantaged and special needs students. Anchorage School Superintendent Carol Comeau said she is "shocked and very disappointed" that Palin would reject the schools money. She said it could be used for job preservation, teacher training, and helping kids who need it.

(source: Anchorage Daily News)

--------------------

When President Obama made the 2-second "Special Olympics" crack on Jay Leno last Thursday, Sarah planted herself in front of microphones, fuming, on Friday morning: "This was a degrading remark about our world's most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world. These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will."

Actual Special Olympics participants were less incensed than the Alaskan governor:

"He's a cool guy. He's an awesome President and he has a very nice wife," said Kolan McConiughey, 35, who has bowled five perfect games since 2005 and snagged six Special Olympics medals.

McConiughey told the Daily News he'd love to be invited to the White House and give the President some pointers.

McConiughey's mom, Jan Pardy, said Obama's remark was a "brain burp," and "all of us have those."

--------------------

I'm surprised how these Special Olympians can be so laissez faire, laid-back and nonchalant and... sensible!.... about Obama's gaffe. You get the sneaking suspicion that the ones clamoring for television time on "Good Morning, America" and "The O'Reilly Factor" seem to have some sort of hidden political agenda....

Wow- you rubepulicans just can't let go of the visciousness even when polling clearly shows you are losing membership from these hate-filled and ignrant tactics.

Aside from being insipid, Sarah Palin is a CRIMINAL.
She improperly used her office to fire people for personal, vindictive reasons.
She encouraged her staff to thwart Alaskan public record law by setting up a private email network for conducting Government business.
She encouraged her staff to refuse to comply with Alaskan legislative subpoena.
She knowingly charged personal expenses to the State.
And now she is suspected of taking gifts, travel, and other compensation from commercial or private interests and not declaring these gifts as required by law.

Star, it is not being VINDICTIVE for elected officials to be held to the letter of the law.
Cast youR mind back to the Republican formation of an Impeach Bill Clinton committee BEFORE HE WAS EVEN ELECTED... and how they pumped millions of RNC dollars into trying to get ANY kinf of investigation going of Clinton.- Not to mention the 50 million of taxpayer money they spent trying to find some illegal act in their real estate dealing ( without finding a SINGLE even questionable thing ) and having to settle on focusing on a cum stained dress...

Are you suggesting that Bill Clinton should not have been censured for perjury over that blowjob?

Because, seriously... Billy's BJ was NOT Clinton misapporapraiting funds from the public coffers, as Sarah has done.
Nor was it seeking to evade legislative oversight by setting up a covert communications network.

So, pray tell, WHICH was the more vindictive?
Republicans spending tens of millions of taxpayers dollars to HUNT for something on Clinton, and having to settle on publicly pilloring an American president over a blowjob?

Or suggesting that the unlearned Governor of a State NOT commit embezzlement of public funds, and NOT knowingly break State government communication laws?

The party is over, pal.
The lights have been turned on and the American people have had it with public hypocrisy.

Until you guys can figure out how to stop excusing the criminality of your own team and actually do a little SELF regulating, you are going to continue to look like morally bankrupt jerks who accuse others of the very things you are most guilty of yourselves.

Note the difference... note how you try to act the apologist of Palin, and EXCUSE her overt and documented criminal acts...

While Democrats, faced with Blagojovich, Ran the fuccker out of office on a rail.

Try this for a refreshing change...
try, just of a month or two, to place the rule of LAW above your petty and cruel ideology.

Try supporting a president trying his best to form consensus to elicit republican contribution in addressing the single largest threat to your nation in 60 years.

Try demanding YOUR guys PROVE themselves BETTER than the opposition, by NOT getting caught with their hands in the till and not lying about history and squarely facing the failures of their policies by CHANGING them.

Try... just for a test run... being a true Patriot

Yes it is a shame, her shame. If she knew the laws in her state then why didn't she pay back the $6K without being told to? "forced into hundreds of thousands in foolish legal fees and jamming up courts for this type of nonsense." She brought it on herself.
