It's funny- Men Magazine started out as Advocate Men...The Advocate- originally a gay men's cultural/political magazine, was losing money in the 80s- so to augment their income- they jumped on the AIDS era gay porn bandwagon.... now, the 2 divisions have split- I think The Advocate has been sold several times since the 90s. The porn mag became a porn site and studio and the gay men's magazine has become an LGBTQ mag with maybe 20% of it's current content about gay men (seems to be 40% trans, 20 % lesbian, 20% gay, 10% bisexual and 10% gender/etc.)
