yet many men have facial hair that they choose to shave regularly. do you consider it to be emasculating not to have facial hair?

No. It's a personal choice for men to make, but many men have jobs where beards are not allowed. Some men, such as myself, do not feel like their beard is something that makes them more attractive.

I do not feel like that is a contradiction, with my dislike for shaven crotches.

Also- doctors will tell you- pubic hair lessens the chance of or spread of STDs (all except crabs). Check out Dr. Mike's YouTube video on this. Most men do it to make their dicks look bigger.
