Here, I’ll indulge you, just a little.
Oh, THANK YOU, your highness, for deignjng to speak to we mere mortals! *eyeroll* Off to a great start...
I believe in access to healthcare, regardless of ability to pay. I believe healthcare is a right, and not a privilege. I support the Affordable Care Act.
We agree on this. Excellent.
I think Mitch McConnell is an ASSHOLE. I think Trump is a narcissistic moron.
And this.
The election was fairly won, and Trump is spouting off lies about it.
And this! So far, so good!
I believe no one should go hungry, especially not in the U.S., which is swimming in money.
Then why are you so anti-progressive left? Because of their 'bias' against white men...?
I believe in Climate Change, and we need to end our complete reliance on fossil fuels.
Nice.
I actually voted for Obama in 2008, and in 2012.
Cool.
I actually voted for Hillary Clinton, even though she was an arrogant bitch who deserved to lose.
This smacks of misogyny, given the specifically gendered insult, but...that's probably too 'woke' of me. I won't argue that she wasnt arrogant, and believed it was her 'turn'.
However, I voted for her for one reason, and one reason ONLY. *Foreign Policy*. She would have been tough as nails on China and Russia, and Putin was afraid of her on that count.
Amen. A lot of her arrogance came from a sense of surety in her knowledge of issues that are important. She's not a people person, or someone I would spend free time with, probably, but she would have been a hell of a president.
I voted for Biden (but honestly, only because I couldn’t take another four years of Trump). I do believe Biden is a good man though.
That's fine. I met him once, on a Metro to Delaware. Well, 'encountered' him. He was busy, and I wasnt going go risk drawing undercover Security attention. Lol. I respect that he is capable of admitting he was wrong about things in his past, and that he is willing to look to the future, but not leap blindly.
I also believe he is pandering to the progressive leftists too much.
Damn those progressive leftists, demanding that human rights matter, and that ALL people deserve to be happy and healthy, not just rich, white people...
I believe the ultra wealthy should be taxed at much higher rates. I believe corporations should not be allowed to park profits overseas in places like Ireland and get away with it. However, Congress needs to change the laws.
Agree. How can they do that, given the current stranglehold on progress that the Right Wing has on anything getting done?
I also believe Silicon Valley needs to reigned in. Especially those asswipes, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jack Dorsey. Amazon needs to be broken up.
Word.
I support the United States Postal Service, and think William DeJoy is a Trump stooge.
Agree!
But on the other hand, I support Voter ID laws, and think voting by mail should only be allowed when someone has a good reason, and am tired of the trope of the “poor oppressed People of Color” being somehow “hurt” by that.
*sigh* Have you heard of "Poll taxes"? It would behoove you to listen to actual people of color explain why these laws are restrictive, but here is an analysis by the American Bar Association that might help.
I do NOT support statehood for D.C. That is just a power grab by Democrats couched in the patina of “democracy” and “disenfranchisement”. Democrats are extremely disingenuous on that point.
And here, you start to lose me. DC residents have zero representation in government. They are a majority black city, whose voices dont get a say in our representative government. That is a problem. Democrats recognize this problem, Republicans do too. One wants those voices to matter. The other wants then to stay quiet and not rock the boat. Its that simple. Does it benefit the Democrats more? Sure. But I would still support DC statehood (and Puerto Rico and Guam, as well), even if it was a white supremacist enclave. People deserve to have their voices heard in a representative democracy.
I think the Capitol Rioters should have the book thrown at them. Major jail time for all of them.
Agree here!
I think Krapmala Harris was a very cynical pick for Vice President and is totally unqualified to be president, and was just a choice that ticked off all of the “woke” boxes. She’s a joke. And no one voted for her, she rode Biden’s coat tails (like almost all V.P.’s do).
Kamala Harris is a qualified choice, both for VP, and Prez. Not my first pick by ANY means, as I disagree with her stance on police matters, and several other things.
I do NOT support putting Harriet Tubman on our $20 bill. If you want to change it, put Franklin Delano Roosevelt on it. Why THAT man isn’t on a bill is beyond me.
Why? Because she's black? Or a woman? Or worked to free the slaves? Why put yet another old white guy on our money? Why NOT a woman of color who fought against tyranny and oppression, like an American Hero?
I’m sick of bullshit “Diversity and Inclusion” crap, and “sensitivity training” reeducation camp courses in the work place.
Most centrist and right wing white men seem to be sick of it too. I wonder why...? I mean, I don't, I get it: When you've been the ONLY voice that matters for centuries, having to share the microphone feels like oppression. Now, with voices that are NOT cishet, white, male, wealthy, or Christian being heard, things seem scary. I mean...what if all these uppity minorities and bitches want to do to white men what white men have done to them for...ever!?
I believe in Biden’s infrastructure bill, but only insofar as things like roads, bridges and broadband access, etc. Home health aides are NOT infrastructure. Put that shit in another bill.
Anything that improves quality of life for the citizenry and/or provides for future generations to have a better go of it than we did should be considered infrastructure and be paid for with our tax dollars and be beholden to the Capitalist market: Roads, bridges, freeways, tunnels, overpasses, underpasses, internet, schools, hospitals, emergency services, water, sewage. ALL of that should be seen as infrastructure, and be paid for by our tax dollars BEFORE military budgets or kickbacks to donors and corporations.
I believe in gun control.
What does this entail, to you?
I do not believe in all this “Non-Gender” binary crap, or all this “pronoun” crap. Bruce Jenner and Bradley Manning are MALES. They have the XY chromosome pair and there’s NOTHING they can do about it.
Does it affect your life in any way, OTHER than you being expected to respect other people and their lives? Have you ever actually MET and spoken with (and more importantly, LISTENED to) any trans person? Caitlyn Jenner is a mess of a human being and worthy of criticism, but deadnaming and misgendering her does no one any good. Chelsea Manning is a hero, and deserves to be called whatever the hell she wants. You can 'not believe in' or 'not get' or 'disagree with' it, but these are human beings, with lives, and feelings, and experiences that you cannot know. ESPECIALLY if you never bother to listen.
I do not necessarily support adoption of children by gay couples. Sue me.
Why not?
Just because I am homosexual does NOT mean I believe certain things, and support certain things, and am against certain things. Homosexual men are not some monolithic block. Kind of like the Latino population is not a monolithic block. Democrats learned that lesson the hard way this past presidential election cycle.
On that note, this whole “LatinX” bullshit, is just that, BULLSHIT. And most Latinos don’t support it or call themselves that either. That’s some twisted white WPLL crap. It’s also an insult to the Spanish Language.
LatinX started as a way of not assuming someone of Latin descent is Male or female. Many Latin-descended people hate it, many are fine with it. I use it ONLY if I am unsure of the gender of the person I am speaking about, and adjust to the proper phrasing once it's made clear.
Also, what is this 'WPLL' you keep using? Is this just a....you thing?
I’m tired of the “Straight White Man” being the all encompassing Bogey Man.
So, I'm getting a picture here...of a very conflicted, self-loathing gay man who hates trannies and women and people of color. You hold mostly progressive views, but the things you are regressive about are BIG red flags. 'Centrist' does not mean 'progressive, but also a racist.' Most of your issues could be resolved by listening to actual people talking about the things that actually affect them, and not just spouting what amounts to right wing talking points cribbed off of the latest episode of Tucker Carlson. You are, of course, allowed your opinion om things, but that does NOT mean you are free from being challenged on nonsense. And being challenged on nonsense does not mean you are being 'cancelled', or 'censored'. It means you are being CHALLENGED, and you need to step up and defend your opinions, or adjust your thinking to account for new information. There are two main tenets to being a progressive: compassion, and willingness to adapt to new information.
Everything else you have previously ranted about is fluff and obfuscation.
