I am a virgin, and this makes it all the more embarrassing to go to the doctor and talk about this at 25. I also don't want a circumcision, I'd rather some alternative route.

Does anyone know what I have wrong with my penis? Are there any other options...?
Dude, go to the GUM/Clinic From what I have heard they aren't terrible and they are staffed by professionals, not witch doctors. The burning is a sign of something more serious which will no doubt need an antibiotic to fix. As for you being a virgin, so what? There are 30 and 40 year old virgins on this site. Being a virgin has nothing to do with your current medical situation.

See a doctor, your problem is not uncommon. The fact that you are a virgin is not relevant to the tightness you have, however the burning is (the fact that you are a virgin would indicate that it's not due to a STD, but he or she have to know that, otherwise there will be blood tests).
Tend to this quickly, you're missing out on a big part of life.
AGREED!

I have so many problems with my downstairs equipment, I don't know where to begin. Firstly I am 25 years old - this makes everything ten times worse. My foreskin is very tight and when soft or erect I cannot retract it. About 12 months ago I did begin to stretch the skin, which made the foreskin nearly able to retract just before the glans ended. This was only when the penis was soft. When erect, it was still impossible to pull the foreskin back more than 1/4 way over the glans.

When I did pull the foreskin back a fair way back (when soft), there was noticeable redness on the glans. This scared me. This also combines with my foreskin becoming inflated and red when I masturbate more than once a day. Because of this I only masturbate every other day MAX. Sometimes I also get a burning sensation when I pee. This mainly happens after excercise though.

I did think this was all cancer - mainly due to the fact I also had one of my left testicles hanging lower than the other with a build up of the epidydimis ( tests revealed nothing to be worried about there ).

However even though I do not have cancer. I still do have:

tight foreskin
redness
itching
burning when i pee

Yes, my friend in college had a very similar problem. He went ahead and got circumcised at age 22 and to this day says it was the best decision he ever made. May want to consider it.

So eight months after making this topic I went to my GUM clinic (I arranged an appointment at a 'decent' one after researching online).

They saw me pretty quickly. I explained about my non-retractable foreskin and redness/itchiness etc. First thing he said was 'this is a sexual health clinic you should have seen your GP. I explained to him the reason I hadn't, and besides I thought my penis was directly linked to my sexual health, lol.

Anyway, his answer was obvious for the itching (I couldn't wash properly because of foreskin). His solution?

"CIRCUMCISION"
"But I don't really want..."
"You must have a circumcision"
"But I read that you can use steroid creams etc"
"No, they don't work"

By his last statement I knew that he really didn't give a SHIT about my problems, and was pushing his own opinions about getting circ'd (he was of a particular background who are usually circ'd).

Anyway, he told me to be referred by my GP to get a circ. I mean this is part of my problems with doctors on the NHS - they REALLY don't care in my experience. They want you out of there as quickly as possible. Now I have to see my GP who is an absolute cock. At least now I have private health care so I can see a proper urologist after referral.

Many doctors suck like this. Try to find a good doctor that listens to you. Good luck.

Hey penisprob

My best friend in college had the same problems
that you are having.

The redness was, as you were told, due to not
being able to competely retract the foreskin to
clean the area properly.

Until I was made aware of my friend's problem, I
was unaware of any of this. I have always been
cut, and he was the first person that I knew who
was uncut. It is more common to be uncut today.

The inability to retract the foreskin fully over the
glans is, I understand, very common. He did not
want to be circumcised and all they did was make
a slight incision in his foreskin, and that allowed it
to fully retract over the glans.

I talked to him last night after I read your thread,
and he told me he had never had a problem since.
Actually, he told me that his son had the same
condition as a teenager, and he had the same
correction made. He told me to tell you to ask
your doctor about this type of correction...which
is NOT the same as a circumcision.

Good Luck

While I can't address your problem I will say that this is an example of how the anonymity of the internet can help with those most terrifying of problems.
I am the type of person that when there is nothing to worry about, I still find something to worry about. Take care of your condition, physical and mental. We all desire to be happy.

penisprobs, going to a Doctor is what you really need to do. A Urologist is your best choice if you want to keep your foreskin.

The surgery silvertriumph mentioned is preputioplasty: they make a Z-shaped cut in the underside then stitch it back together.

Before considering any surgery, you should give betamethasone [steroid cream] and stretching a try. More info about betamethasone and stretching at the NORM-UK website.

You need to get it resolved. You've procrastinated enough.

Right Penisprobs, you have been given some good advice here

Before considering the chop, you MUST see your doctor, for some steriod cream this might allow the foreskin to loosen up a bit and allow you to fully retract it.

When you see your doctor you MUST tell him or her (they've seen more cock than you have eaten hot dinners so don't be shy) about the redness which does sound like thrush and you will need to get this funcicidal infection treated - anyone can get thrush at anytime.

The burning when peeing sounds like it might be a complication of phimosis (I think we are all agreed this is what you probably have). If you urine flow slow which results in dribbling ? get along to your doctor.

Now for the good news, if the steriod cream does not work, and it might not, you don't have to have a circumcision, you can have a proceedure called preputioplasty which is a small dorsal slit along the constricting skin.

This is not something you will be able to sort out on your own, you MUST seek medical help. THIS HAS NOTHING to do with being a virgin it can happen to men at anytime in their lives and yoru doctor should not even ask you, so make that appointment on Monday

Good luck

The GUM doctor was probably circed at birth, so does not know any different. Secondly he will probably see a large number of patients with sexual diseases which through poor hygiene or sleeping around led him to consider the safest penis is one with no foreskin. No crevices, folds to hangs on to stuff or cause irritation..
Research has blown a hole in the brigade that preaches the circumcised are best. Hell, it was suggested that if the population of Africa was all circumcised AIDs & HIV would not be a problem This lead to the circumcised thinking they could just go off and have it off! Without any danger. The escalation in infested cases has sadly shown this to be a load of bullshit.
Stretching can work, Glansie of Australia sell a device, though I'm concerned at the small area of skin to which the stretching force is applied. OK, for children not for an adult. But that's my viewpoint. Foreskin Restoration Massage Oil for maximum results sells an oil they claim helps stretch the skin. The cortisones mentioned in previous posts, are sometimes difficult to get from doctors. Not because of the end use, but due to the potential side effects. Thinning the skin can cause damage. As for surgery, a previous poster mentioned a procedure, this is a 'Z' shaped cut which can relieve the tension. As for full circumcising, obviously you can go for this adventure. For an adult, it painful over an extended period, and not always pretty even after the wound has healed. Best use a skilled plastic surgeon, more expensive but the result is diifference between an amateur spraying his car and a professional body shop. One can take the view 'We'll few people will see your derobed penis.' Perhaps not now, but once done you'll be stuck with it, that is unless you have a remodelling job done later.
The best approach is stretch it mate. It will take a lot of time. Then if you eventuaslly decide to go for a cut -Then OK - But jumping in for a cut immediately is a hell of a decision.
All the above ideas will be governed by your health conditions though, as with any part of the body, each of your units are different than the next chap. One only needs to view the displays of penises, boobs etc. to see the variety.
SamWoe - I've overcome my own problem with stretching + aloe vera gel. (test any cream, drug or skin medication on a small area first -to ensure you have no allergy to the product) Cleared a phimotic ring too!

Try some hydrocortison or other steroid cream (1%). It helps with stretching.

using cortisone is know to cause skin to become thin and tear easily. ONLY USE UNDER A DOCTORS SUPERVISION.

Nothing is "wrong" with your penis.

Just see a couple urologist for 2nd or 3rd opinions to help you better enjoy or maximize your sexual experience.

Hi mate, that sounds so similar to me. I'm in the UK, did'nt want to go to my GP so went to the local GUM clinic.

Was given some cream for the red forskin which turned out to be thrush - not an sti, but simply a condition that manifested itself in the damp area under my foreskin componded by the fact I couldnot pull the skin back to clean properly. I did'nt have any stinging though. The creak cured that it three days!

With regards to the tight forskin I was started on some steroid cream and stretching exercises, had to do that for 12 weeks, helped GREATLY but sadly did not cure the problem so now on a waiting list for a circ.

Your probs dont sound horrendous mate, go get yourself sorted now - it will be worth it!

Hmmmm. 12 weeks isn't long enuf to create the lasting stretch you need, buddy. I've been stretching for 1 year (solid for 8 months) and though I can now wank without lube, I'm a long way from having the foreskin I want. And since a circumcision is such a permanent solution, unless you REALLY REALLY gotta go that route, I'd reconsider.

But it's your dick and your peace of mind. No one should try to make you feel bad about taking control of your life.

penisprobs, i had the same problem as you, not being able to retract my foreskin when hard, but i could with vaseline when soft. i had a circumcision to correct my problem only 14 days ago and i know already its one of the best decisions of my life. im still healing at the moment but it both looks and feels great and can tell im going to benefit from the procedure for many years to come.

i went down the road of using the steroid creams, my GP thought they may help a bit, although he knew it wouldnt be a long term solution. He still let me try though and it helped a small amount, but not enough to be anywhere near how a normal penis works and if you stopped using the cream things tended to tighten up again.

while looking for pictures and advice myself i found a site where someone put up their own account of their circ and posted many photos which reassured me somewhat

Chaz' Circumcision Procedure & Recovery Photos

im not sure about infant circs and that whole monster of a topic, but i think for people like us circumcision really is the answer

im also from the uk and had to deal with the nhs, from GP, to urologist, to my day surgery so if you have any questions feel free to PM me.
