What are some things you could see on/about a person that turn you off or prevent you from flirting with them
Back on topic, with apologies, Gecko. I am taken of course, but if I was single, then...
If I've gotten to know someone, then appearance matters less and less. For example, I couldn't care less if someone has a bad bright orange self-tan if I know how kind and funny and caring he is, but obviously there are snap judgments we all make before we get to know someone, and being orange might be one of them - although a guy could totally make it work if he was really hilarious about being orange and how he made a one-time mistake, so that could really work as an ice-breaker.
When it comes to snap-judgments, being inappropriately unwashed. A guy tried to pick me up last night at a bar at night and he really needed a shower. If we were outdoors and he was hiking or running or doing yardwork, acceptable, but the sun had gone down many hours ago and the perspiration wasn't fresh. Yuck. Same with teeth.
Anyone who looks like he could be a cast member on Jersey Shore.
Wedding rings, should go without saying.
T-shirts or any other evidence of supporting certain political opinions. I honestly think I would have a difficult time dating someone with vastly different political opinions than me. I support gay rights for example, and I couldn't imagine myself with someone who opposed gay rights. I think it would be a turn-off.
Um... can't think of anything else right now...
