You said you took 20 000 IU for a month and then 10 000 Iu, then you say not to take synthetic vit D, i dont understand.

synthetic vit d aka vitamin D2 as opposed to the vitamin D3 we're talking about.

How long have you been taking the 50 000?

All ive noticed so far (3 weeks) is the condition of my nails and hair is really good.

ive been taking 10.000 iu's before but started 50.000 iu's a day about 10 days ago.

I'm supposed to decrease the amount after a while but I'm not totally sure since I have some extreme workouts ahead of me.

Purely curious: In your "Vitamin D pursuits", have you been to the doctor to have your blood tested so that you have "before" and "after" blood panels to compare?

They look optimum to me. Very nice.:biggrin1:

I take 6000iu of Vitamin D a day, and my blood level is still in the mid-range. I had one doctor tell me to take 10,000iu for optimum breast health. But that is an opinion, because there is not enough evidence to know for sure if it that much Vit. D will protect breast tissue. My pharmacist says he takes 20,000iu a day. No matter how much you take, make sure your doctor is doing blood work to check your levels.

There is a *HUGE* difference between synthetic vitamins and natural vitamins. They are NOT the same things.

The synthetic type won't do a damn thing for you, and usually causes bad things to happen. The long-term harm is what you should worry about because it will happen, and the effects are undocumented on purpose.

You have to do your homework to weed out the natural from the synthetic.

No, I haven't because I try to avoid the doctors office as much as possible, I would like to get tested but we have a healthcare system here where I'd have to pay 200 to 300 euros extra IF I make x amount of costs.
Just a swine flu check up few years back cost me that much.

So if I'm not in any immediate danger I'm not going to the doctor.

As a sidenote I discovered another side effect of taking vitamin d3.
I tan every now and then, and a few weeks back I decided to go up a level in strength and length but I hardly noticed any results or burns.
So a week later I decided to test it again, but few minutes longer but I got the same results.

Just saying that normally I'd have gotten somewhat burned and have a slightly red face but it didn't happen even when I got higher in strength and time.

Read a small part about Vitamin d protecting against sunburns as well but this was like discovering a new superpower.

I also decided to go for a cheaper version as I take lots of em but when they arrived I discovered the vitamin d3 was in tablets filled with powder and as vitamin d is fat soluble they don't do you any good unless you take them with fatty foods.
I take them with my omega 3 fish capsules but they aren't as effective as the fat filled capsules so beware of powdered vitamin d.

I've been experimenting with my dosage and I feel optimum when taking 50.000 to 75.000 iu a day which basically equals being outside all day on a hot summer day (for the people who are afraid of overdosing.)

I was prescribed 50,000 units once a week for a month, then one every two weeks for a month. Now I take 1, 400IU per day. No I don't think a person should take 50,000 units a day. Way too much!

well ive been doing it for 5 months and have had no side effects : p
and 400IU isnt enough, unless you are out in the sun everyday.... you should take atleast 5 000.

1000iu is the recommended daily intake of Vitamin D3. Anything greater then that increases your risk of hypercalcaemia. You are overdosing on a vitamin, should probably see your doctor about a psychiatric evaluation.

50,000-70,000iu? is not a day in the sun. your body cant overdose on vitamin D from the sun because the same process in which cholesterol molecules and uv rays interact to make vitamind3 then vitamin d also produces inhibitory chemicals protecting you from overdose. If you take vit D3 pills that safeguard is not there.

bullshit the molecules have the same structure no matter how its made. water condenscing from steam has the same molecular structure as water from the ocean.

Just playing devil's advocate -

What if the 10% gain in penile length is directly attributable to weight loss? I think if D3 helps shed weight, it would thin out your fat pad at the pelvis in effect boosting available shaft to work with. Yes? No?

Anyway, just a though.

Maybe, but im not sure it will provide enough of a weightloss on its own to have that effect....
