VOLUME--measurement gold standard

an8x7: i admire huge cocks and love to compare but that raises the question of what is the best comparison basis. to me it is VOLUME. after all if you are trying to fill a cylindrical hole then the best guage is to calculate the cubic space of it. :)

the formula for volume is: (circumference/6.2832)squared x 3.1416 x length. most everyone knows how to measure the length of their cock. i think the best way to measure the circumference is to merely get a raging hard-on and then wrap a string around the thickest part of the shaft and measure the string. no fair including the scrotum!!

when applying that formula to various size cocks you get some interesting results. most surveys say the average size is between 5-6 inches long and 4-5 inches around. taking this range you get: 5x4 equals 6.4 cubic inches of cock while 6x5 equals 11.9 cubic inches. even though the range of normal length/circumference measurement doesn't sound like much the larger dick has 86% more VOLUME, i.e. meat!!

now about the largest i have seen are the porn stars jack napier and mandingo. there's a very good video "there's something about Jack" by west productions with the two of them. i would estimate jack at 14x8 and mandingo at 12x7.
they're probably both a touch under that so i am giving them a slight edge to the extreme. using the formula jack has a mind-blowing 71.3 cubic inches and mandingo a heart-pounding 46.8 cubic inches!!!! jack is a whopping 6-11 times bigger than the average joe!!!! he's even has 1.5 times more meat than mandingo!! i wish i had a formula to convert cubic inches into weight. i would love to know what jack's cock weighs!! if i could hold it in my hands i might be able to estimate it!!! ;D

obviously the most important factor in this formula is circumference as it has a very dramatic impact on cubic inches. for example i'm 8x7 while a very good friend of mine is 10x5.5. naturally his length appearance-wise makes mine look a bit puny. but when you apply the "gold standard"--VOLUME i have 31.2 cubic inches while he only has 24.1 cubic inches--30% less meat than me!!! something i have never let him forget!

that started me to thinking. even though i would die to have an extra couple inches it would take an 11x6 cock to equal my meat! now that makes me feel better!! most porn stars i would say are around 9x6 which makes them over 20% smaller than me in terms of volume! that and the fact that i have a good 3-4 times more meat in my hands than the average joe when worshiping my cock finally set my mind to ease! :D

would appreciate any comments/questions--just post them. you can send pics to my e-mail if you want comparisons.

tomarctus: I am interested in volume, too. There's something fascinating about 'weighing' a cock in my hand. I also think volume is a better overall measure of size.
That said, my volume works out to 16.4 cu in, only a little more than half the volume of yours :(. I hope to get some girth and length gains with my PE program.
Girth is always more important to me than length, anything over 7 around is great. I like it best if I cant close my hand around it.

Question: Who's calculated their dick size to five significant figures? I've done four - 26.67 cm - but I generally prefer just three - 26.7 cm

For those of you with a spreadsheet it would be this:

A1 - enter length here
A2 - enter mid-point circumference here
A3 - =A2/PI()/2
A4 - =PI()*A3^2
A5 - =A1*A4

Now, round to the appropriate number of significant figures. I got 673 cm[sup]3[/sup] or a little over 41 cubic inches.

Oh, and we're no longer on the gold standard. Remember that massive inflation in the 70s?

tomarctus: I still get 268.8 cubic centimeters or 16.4 cubic inches for my cock.

lomejorhombre: Interesting method, I used the spreedsheet formula and got 50.9 cubic inches. I'll have to check my anatomy books about the average density of penile tissue, from this and the calculated volume you could get the mass in grams Density= Mass/Volume :-/

Donk: For those of us who are truly lazy and/or math-challenged, here's a website with an automatic calculator for cylinder volume: http://www.mathepower.com/english/zylinder.php

You just plug in girth for "perimeter" and length for "altitude" and it gives you the rest.

I come up with 31.513 cubic inches plugging in my 11x6.

P.S. I expect someone who is more math/science inclined will soon chime in about how a penis is not a perfect cylinder, so this isn't totally accurate, etc. etc. I would encourage anyone planning to point that obvious fact to lighten up. This is one of those "close enough"/"all in good fun" type exercises. And the calculator I posted makes it fun to plug in slightly different numbers and see the change in results. (E.g., I normally just report my girth as 6", even though my penis actually flares to a maximum of 7" at the base, tapers to a hair under 6" right under the head, and bulges to a little over 6" along the middle. To guesstimate the difference this makes, I plugged in 6.1 instead of 6 into the calculator and got 32.572 cubic inches vs. 31.513--a somewhat dramatic difference from a tenth of an inch!)

an8x7: hey donk that's the spirit! thanks for providing the easy calculator. now everyone can do it.

since it is a fairly well established fact that vacumn pumping can increase your circumference if anyone wants more "meat" that's an easy way.

mr. stout i hope you can help us develop a formula to approximate weight!!

thefrench_h: 31,72 for me.

BTW, I don't believe that Napier and Mandingo are so big. I would estimate them at 10-11" long and 7-7,5" around at max. That would mean a max volume close to 50 cubic inches...
And I know girls that will be surprised to know that there's guys with cocks 64% bigger than mine ;-) Girth is everything !

rangersean: I wanna point out that measuring the circumferance at the thickest point only will give you a false volume.

That said, measuring at approximately the average diameter of mine, I get:

radius: 1.432, diameter: 2.865
perimeter 9 (entered)
base: 6.446
altitude: 13 (entered)
lateral area:117, surface: 129.892
volume: 83.795

I can say the first line is at least approximately accurate.

an8x7: and the winner is rangersean!!!! that is a lot of meat!!!

i agree with thefrench that napier and mandingo aren't quite up to my guess but i didn't want to slight them! :)

Indeed...To put it in perspective, the volume rangersean calculated is about equal to the engine displacement of some small cars, about 1.4 liters.

I agree about my friend, Rangersean. Just be careful not to announce the loser! LOL! I'm depressed enough as it is!

I'm blushing. :p
I'm not really depressed, either, but I sure feel like a seedling in a Sequoia forest here!

AOX3: This post reminds me of an old gf in college, who whipped out a very wide graduated cylinder from science lab, filled it with water and had me insert my erect member into it, all the way to the hilt. I do not recall the measurement, but the displacement of water showed precisely the volume of my penis in cubic centimeters. Certainly this would be an actual measurement independent of the formulas and calculations. No estimates needed, it accounts for variations in girth, etc. Now I reckon I am gonna have to go to a science supply place to try to find a widemouth graduated cylinder to post MY volume in here. I never made a good grade in math anyway, so I may as well go directly to the source. Truly a gold standard.

serj: I thing that glass tube with water displacement is an excelent idea, the only problem is measuring it afterwards, is there a formula to go from quarts or cups to cubic inches?

Interesting thread by the way.

wvalady1968: Well, those volumetric cylinders are gradiated by milliliters, and 1 mL is 1 cubic centimeter.

Also 1 cubic inch is 16.4 milliliters.

But the real problem is that the gradiations [lines] stop a few inches from the top of the cylinder, which means that you won't be able to get all of Jr. into the water AND all of the water displaced won't flow out of the cylinder.

You need to find one with lines that go all the way to the top or use a diamond pen to etch a line around a cylinder where the gradiations end and snap the excess off, then smooth the edges with a torch. I recommend a 500-1000 mL cylinder for the girth you guys will need.

I think it would work.
