"Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy."
--H.L. Mencken
Hardcore porn performing in and of itself is hardly nasty, dirty or soul depriving just as casual anonymous sex is not in and of itself nasty, dirty or soul depriving. It is a job just like every other job. You've got to be somewhere when someone pays you to, you've got to do what they say, the only difference is that the job you're doing is sex. Most of the time you're just waiting for shit to happen, just like most of life.
As if I'm going to trust some small penised male or a hetero to opine on the
characteristics of gay porn.
I think making hardcore porn (straight, gay, etc.) is not a good idea as a career choice for anyone. Whether it be gay porn or straight makes no difference. It's not about being judgmental on the actors and actresses, either. I think an elementary school teacher should still be allowed to be a stripper/porn model in her spare time without societal consequences. That doesn't mean I have to morally agree with her extracurricular activities (she's not harming me; it's her business entirely). People need to realize that making porn or being a stripper has nothing to do with one's performance in some career, unless drugs are being consumed. I will defend anyone's right to make porn, strip, etc; but, again, I do not have to agree with their choices.
I disagree fully with the 18 year-old who was threatened to not receive his high school diploma because he starred in a few gay porn scenes. Completely wrong!
I'd be friends with a gay or straight porn star, but for the millionth time, I am not obliged to agree with their choice to do so.
It's all hypocritical, considering that those who criticize porn view it (I do at times!). How ironic! But if I could no longer have access to any of it, I'd survive. It'd be better for everyone anyways, right?
JO and nude modeling don't bother me the way hardcore porn does. And LPSG is just about showing off your big peter. It's fine for adult entertainment. Is it ideal, morally-speaking? No.
