So Russia's attempt to invade Georgia and the half ass success of Ukraine is not Imperialist?

The Ossetians don't want to be Georgian anymore, they want to be Ossetian... the Georgians tried forcing them to be Georgian and it didn't work, they lost. the Ossetians of Georgia want to unite with the Ossetians of Russia into one Ossetian ethnic enclave within Russia.

It's what the Ossetians want and they are willing to spill blood to to protect the promise of a future sovereignty.

The same thing is happening in the Donbass. The ethnic Russian residents of the Donbass don't want to be Ukrainian anymore. the Kiev military responded by deploying Nazi battalions that shelled innocent civilians and are back at it violating the ceasefire. Every grandma or child that has been killed by the Kiev military (12 adults and 3 children just this week) strengthens the resolve of the Donbass separatists and they are willing to suffer great hardship and violence in order to live away from an ANTI-RUSSIAN Kiev government.

Ethnic identity and national identity are passionate affairs... this emotional conflicts are what nations are built and lost upon.

Euromaidan was a coup d'etat of Ukraine where Russian influence and identity was to be forcefully ripped away from Ukrainian identity and a pro-European state was to be installed in it's place. This new Euro-Style Ukraine was designed and implemented to be a military antagonist of Russia. This would mean the immediate expulsion of the Russian Nuclear submarine fleet that was legally leasing the Crimean peninsula as it's base. this is absolutely unacceptable and threatens Russia's national security at the HIGHEST LEVEL.

A quick check with the Crimean people that confirmed their willingness to not be a part of Ukraine but be a part of Russia instead and it was all over peacefully without any casualties in a short amount of time.

This is all set against a backdrop of increasing NATO expansion and the annexation of former Soviet Republic states into NATO's fold.

Plus, we have the "crying wolf" by the Baltic States and Poland that Russia is menacing them and about to invade at any time...

... NATO comes to the rescue and puts hardware and troops on Russia's borders.

There is no Soviet Union, NATO shouldn't even exist anymore... Russia is a STRONG ally against terror, they should be partnering with NATO and they have BEGGED NATO time and time again, to team up and fight terror together. NATO refuses, rattles their sabers and prepares for WWIII... NATO is acting like a total asshole.

How the fuck is any of that true. They implanted russian citizens in ukraine and was caught doing. They did a bullshit ellection and the Ukrainian people dont want it. They were screaming in the streets for EU and American intervention on live television. I saw it with my own eyes. The Georgia situation is complicated cause thise people you speak of is part of that nation but the resr doesnt want to. so 35 percent of a nationa population should dictate there policy? Why dont all the people bordering Russia who love them so much leave to go live in Russia? Cause they want the Russian influence to expand across Europe. Putin btw was apart of the KGB during the Cold War. Your trying to say these people want this when either a small group or virtually none want it. It is Russia. Plus why do they keep violating Air Space of diffrent nations including the united states and flying aircraft dangerously close to United States ships and Aircraft to the point of being incredibly dangerous? I would like to know why they keep taunting the US and why we dont use this as an opportunity to attack?

They implanted russian citizens in ukraine and was caught doing.

They did a bullshit ellection and the Ukrainian people dont want it. They were screaming in the streets for EU and American intervention on live television. I saw it with my own eyes.

Yanukovich's opponent Tymoshenko was one of the most corrupt politicians of all time. According to all international organizations observing the election, allegations of electoral fraud in relation to the first round ballot were unfounded, they declared that the conduct of the elections was within internationally recognized democratic standards and a testament to the will of the people of Ukraine.

Yanukovich had the HIGHEST positive rating among Ukrainian politicians at the time of the election.

The elections were decent and good. Unfounded and irrational fears were shared by a majority of the people of Ukraine. Both Yanukovich and Tymoshenko accused the other candidate of rigging the election, no doubt stoking public fears of unfairness.

Yanukovich won because he was the most respected politician in Ukraine... now that might not be saying much but it is the cold harsh reality that the West has had to live with. But did they have to? Couldn't a wide scale provocation amidst the cover of a "peaceful nationalist protest" where provocateurs could incite violence and the whole country could be whipped up in a frenzy? A coup d'etat was carefully scheduled for 2014. It went along as planned and was successful in throwing the region into violent turmoil.

NATO needs to provoke Russia into WWIII, and "Euromaidan" was a provocation of the highest order. Russia didn't take the bait though and they are still trying to sidestep the violent advances of NATO with apparent ease. Turkey even shot down a plane (that didn't enter their territory) in order to garner a rather wild and angry military response from Russia... didn't work either.

ISIS just shot down a Russian helicopter with US supplied Manpads... arming Saudi inspired Wahhabist terrorists against Russia just like we did in Afghanistan in the late' 80s... did Russia flip out on the United States? Not at all, they are keeping their cool... someone has to be the adult in this conflict.

The Georgia situation is complicated cause thise people you speak of is part of that nation but the resr doesnt want to. so 35 percent of a nationa population should dictate there policy? You have a point of view that is "informed" by a one sided point of view. You get reports from the US but don't get reports from Russia. How the heck are you supposed to know what the hell is going on if you don't get a second opinion? If you only hear from the US and their corporate backed complicit media, you get a picture that the Russians are cartoonish villains intent on spreading evil across the globe... but the reality is more complicated than that.

1). Russia has BONAFIDE security interests and needs
2). Russia is a very poor country with a 1/3rd of the US GDP and half of the people
3). The United States spends over 100 million dollars a year destabilizing Russia's society and their government. This is DIRECT interference from a hostile country (the USA) and is an act of war. Russia spends ZERO dollars trying to destabilize the United States.
4). The US and NATO have been arming terrorists with US tax dollars suplied weaponry in order to put Russians in their graves on a regular basis. Russia had to fight TWO Chechen Wars against NATO supplied Wahhabist terrorists AFTER they had to fight US supplied terrorists on Afghanistan (Osama Bin Ladin's Mujahideen... remember him?)

I could go on and on with the aggression coming from NATO towards Russia... the pentagon thinks they can win a nuclear confrontation with Russia and are itching to bomb them to smithereens.

China and Russia are about to create a world military alliance... they weren't allied in the cold war but they will be now... simply because of Western aggression.

You see the Russian fighter jets buzzing the Donald Cook... but you don't fucking realize that the Donald Cook is a Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer which is part of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System. You also don't realize that a US destroyer has no BUSINESS OPERATING 70 nautical miles from Kaliningrad... if a Russian Nuclear capable destroyer was operating off of the coast of California, you would be sure that our jets would be buzzing it repeatedly. It's standard fucking operating procedure that when an enemy ship gets too close, you buzz it during peacetime and shoot first ask questions later during wartime.

The bussing was peaceful and a reminder to stay the fuck out of the Baltic Sea. the US has NO BUSINESS SAILING IN THE BALTIC SEA... especially not while being a part of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System. the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System is designed not to be a defensive weapon but believed to be an offensive weapon capable of taking out Russia's first strike nuclear capability. Bringing this mutherfucker off of Russia's coast is absolutely designed to provoke a military response from Russia... the buzzing was an entirely acceptable means of expressing their discontent with the actions of the Donald Cook.

Get both sides to a story and THEN figure out what is going on... with only one side, you are doomed to make inaccurate assessments. Knowledge is power... and only getting one side prevents us from being truly knowledgable.

I used to be a bouncer and I had to get BOTH sides to a situation before making my decision... only getting one side leads to throwing out the wrong guy or coming to the aid of the aggressor.... NOT COOL. I had to provide security, not bullshit-half-assed-interventions that seemed politically motivated or suspiciously one-sided.

What we see here in this entire thing is that there is huge mistrust. the Russian government is pulling tons of dirty tricks on everyone. They are trying ro pull the innocent card like they have for decades. They act just like the Romulans from Stat Trek. I know thats an odd thing to jump too but one intresting thing to know is they did the show that way between the federation and the romulans as the United States and Russia in cold war. Russia has crossed the line and pushed other nations around and been caught doing it one too many times. And dont forget how they treated the eastern part of europe compared to the west. My parents were in the military just after the wall fell in Germany and saw how the east lived. It was horrible. And those people were spied upon and large scale psychological fucking happened as well. These people are not compasionate. They do not believe in individual liberty. The way they have their government setup is a joke. Putin is a dictator. I have friends I have met from all over the globe from bases I have lived near and it is interesting to ask questions and get FIRST HAND accounts on hoe they treated them. How they destroyed their culture and most of all their liberty. If you can stand up for them in any capacity you better just lable yourself an oppressor of the freedom you enjoy in your life. Its like the entire history of Russia has been forgotten. Speak to those who stood aginst them during the cold war and listen to them explain to you how people straved or how they were beatten to death. Or how about how they were taken from their homes to just disappear. A great man once said something very important "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

^ Ya di ya di ya... You say all that, quote worn-out platitudes, and yet you misuse this site to insult and trash people who are not "American" or have a different point of view than yours... Grow up.

I aint aginst people who are not from the United States. Jesus how many times must I say this. It pisses me off when a foreigner says they know what its like here when I live here and can see it. I have many foreign friends ans they are amazed at how stupud we get here about things in their nation that are basically non issues. Im sorry that I know about diffrent world views and that I use that resource to gain more knowledge on first hand experiences. Why read a book about that when you can talk to someone who was there. God how big of a Dumb Ass are you?

The Russian people are normal people just like you and me... I am ethnically 50% Russian, my mother is Russian (she was adopted by an English family)... I take after my Mom almost 100%... my daughter looks exactly like her.

I am a normal person, my bloodline doesn't make me: shifty, dishonest, violent, sneaky... a thief and definitely not a bully. Life in Russia is sort of hard, their economy sucks, it has always sucked.

Russia was invaded by Germany TWICE in the last century. They have SERIOUS security concerns. They have been treated like shit by the West for centuries, ever since England started the "Great Game" in the 18th century... nothing has changed in hundreds of years. England used their press to smear and demonize Russia and Russians as propaganda in the Great Game... its still going on.

You'll never hear ONE positive news story about Russia on western News... every bad guy in the 80s and 90s was Russian... movies haven't stopped that shit... its still going on.

Like I said, we spend 100 Million dollars destabilizing Russia every fucking year... WE are the aggressors and antagonists of Russia, not the other way around.

Don't forget that Russia lost 28 million people during WWII while the Allied forces were fucking around in North Africa and Italy playing with their dicks... Russia faced over 200 divisions at once and we faced maybe 20 at once at the worst time.

Russia sacrificed the most to defeat the Nazis, that is indisputable.

Hmmm... did the Nazis have any collaborative help from countries bordering Russia during Operation Barbarossa? YES!!!!

Ukraine collaborated with & helped the Nazis
Estonia collaborated with & helped the Nazis
Latvia collaborated with & helped the Nazis
Lithuania collaborated with & helped the Nazis

Along with Poland, these countries were VIRULENTLY anti-semitic and that anti-semitism and simultaneous fear of Russia pushed them into clear roles of complicity. They formed SS units and fought alongside Nazis against Russia... now those same countries are pushing NATO into a heated military confrontation.

I don't side with Nazis... I don't now about you, but I'd side with Putin ANYDAY over siding with a fucking Nazi. If Putin wants to fuck Nazis up... I will march with him any day of the week. The same thing with ISIS, if Russia wants to fuck ISIS up, I am 100% behind them. I'd NEVER air drop ISIS weapons and supplies by supposed mistake so they could kill Russians... but that's what's been happening over and over again.

You're a Russophobe and you can't be talked sense to... you have a cartoonish and childish view of Russia... you've seen Red Dawn one too many times bro.

China's claim to the waters of the South China Sea has no legal basis, an international tribunal said in a landmark decision

Tuesday, July 12, 2016 6:05 AM EDT
An international tribunal in The Hague delivered a sweeping rebuke on Tuesday of China’s behavior in the South China Sea, from the construction of artificial islands to interference with fishing, and ruled that its expansive claim to sovereignty over the waters had no legal basis.
The landmark case, brought by the Philippines, was seen as an important crossroads in China’s rise as a global power. It is the first time the Chinese government has been summoned before the international justice system, and neighboring countries have hoped that the outcome will provide a model for negotiating with Beijing or for challenging its assertive tactics in the region.
China, which refused to participate in the tribunal’s proceedings, has expressed defiance about the case, insisting for months that it would ignore the decision and risk being labeled an international outlaw.

You can have all the Russian blood you want it doesnt make you a Russian. Im a majority German but that doesnt mean I want to dominate the world and kill the jews. Im an American.

Im so happy. China has no right over that area. I will have to pop open a bottle and drink to that. Thank you for alerting me to that. I did already read it on Drudge but I'm still excited to see that.

When it comes to bombing, seems like ISIS is quicker to acknowledge responsibility than the World's only Superpower

"Pressed with the likelihood of a grave error, American officials responded cautiously, emphasizing the need to verify what happened." ( really? How thoughtful..)

An airstrike in Syria killed entire families instead of ISIS fighters

Now what was that about Christian Morality again? oh yeah, never take the blame when you make a mistake..just wait awhile until your enemies retaliate and then blame them
