was he flirting?? awkward gay social experience

i posted this on reddit, but thought I could get some answers here too...

So I went out last weekend, and at one bar (Blake's) this guy was handing out these promotional "glow stick" type things that were promoting Jameson.

So I had it in my hand for a while, and me and my friend went to the outside patio whatever area. We are talking and than out of nowhere this big guy comes out... and says to me that He has tourettes and that my "glow stick" is triggering his tourettes. He says this all seriously... and than when I'm about to respond he starts laughing. I think me and him kinda joke back and forth for a little while and than he goes back to his post.

He was clearly WORKING there, like potentially a security guard. and he was actually pretty hot... BUT when he left us after the joke, I was really wondering "WHAT JUST HAPPENED"

like I don't get it... was he trying to FLIRT? Other people in the bar had those glowsticks so why did he come to ME to joke about it?

I DON'T GET IT!! someone who is versed in Gay Social Interactions tell me what happened... and maybe what I should have done so I'll know in the future.

Not sure it’s a gay thing. Some people are just socially awkward. I knew a guy in college that had Tourette’s. He was very awkward socially and that sounds like something he might say to make conversation.

If he’s an employee and had a legitimate health and safety concern about his working conditions, he should have raised it with management, not a customer.

If he’s hot, you might want to chat casually to see if he’s interested in your other stick.

Youd have to go there again and feel out the sitch. Thats too short of an interaction to make any conclusions which is why u are so confused by it (id react the same)
