The 2nd amendment does not say that or even remotely suggest that was the reason for it to have been added to the constitution which also does not say anything at all to even remotely support the idea.

Neither Ronald Reagan or the NRA seemed to give shit about "what the 2nd amendment says" when he signed the Molford act, a law that is still "on the books" in CA. to this day.
