I have an underground well, that I test every few years. I joke that I could bottle and sell my own water LOL.
But I do have a main filter for the water that enters the house. I have no idea the brand . Also the refrigerator has a water / ice dispenser and its own filter, again , I have no idea of the brand

The funny thing is that I still buy bottled water for guests

Brita filters for me. And they get changed every other month.

Bottled water for work.

Alternate between a Pur and Brita pitcher and although we considered hooking one directly to the spigot since re-filling the others can be a frequent pain, I've always been too lazy and mechanically uninclined to bother. But sometimes I'll drink straight from the source as unlike some, I've concluded Florida tap water isn't going to kill me; even if it sometimes smells and tastes a little funny.

Honestly? What's the point... we have some of the best, cleanest tap water in the world.
How my local plant cleans it, and what it leaves behind, is problematic. Chlorine, traces of prescription meds and occasional radioactive particulates. Likely from the mountains.

Mmmm... tasty!

My favourite water is London tap water, it has a particularly smooth, round flavour that possibly comes from having travelled through, on average, seven other people's livers before it gets to your mouth :)

Depending on where you live (in the US, I don't want to speak for other countries but I'm sure we're not alone) you might be getting hefty doses of lead.

Among other things. Deregulation isn't the fix-all some idiots seem to think it is.

We use a brita filter on the faucet.

I grew up in New Mexico. Bomb testing happening here for generations, I'm pretty sure my infertility might be connected to the way it fucked up our whole environment, including water. So, I filter to the best of my ability. Even though the damage is likely already done.

No, I'm firmly in favour of greater regulation and more public infrastructure.

My water company's actually one of the better ones, I was most surprised.

A few years ago I woke up one morning and went downstairs to the sitting room and went to have a cigarette out the back. I didn't have my glasses on that morning and when I opened up the curtains by the back door I was surprised to see it had snowed in the night and a thick blanket of white covering the patio and on to the garden. I opened the back door to have a closer look... and, fuck me, I was hit by the overwhelming smell of shit.

So the sewer main had blocked and everything - everything - had backed up and burst forth through the drain in our back garden. All the "snow" was, in fact, toilet paper. It was quite vile.

So I called the water company who sent a team round toot sweet and the four of them worked like Trojans, shovelling shit like maniacs for 4 hours until it was all cleared. They even asked me if I wanted the gravel from the side path "washed and returned". I said they could bin it. Following that they sent me a £200 cheque for the inconvenience.

Just to clarify, I wasn't saying *you* are against regulating infrastructure... Just kinda a random thought that I found relevant.

I'm not lucky enough to be able to say I have safe/non-toxic tap water.

keep a close eye on bone density, too.

Yeah, The Hills Have Eyes was based in NM for good reason. You're not too far from me.
Ew, man. I saw that film and it gave me the screaming ab-dabs. Nothing like inbreeding mixed with plutonium fallout. Not a pretty combination.

I think most people have a certain distrust towards the water supply everywhere; not a bad idea given the amount of pollution from big industry.

I drink tap water at home, no filter.

When I'm hiking, I use a Sawyer mini filter. But I'm thinking of a new system, because the Sawyers I've had were all a bit disappointing.
