Fantastic. This means not only water for human life. It means we can make oxygen and rocket fuel and grow food.

Interestingly, "This is not the first discovery of water on the moon. Several weeks ago, India's Chandrayan spacecraft found clear signs of a microscopic film of water mixed in with lunar soils, or regolith, over large areas of the moon. But those amounts were so insignificant that it is unlikely the water would be of use to future colonists. This latest discovery, however, is a potentially significant source of water, the scientists said."

it would be so cool to have lunar base up there...in a couple of decades, it would be a jumping off point to even further space exploration...

this is so exciting...obviously nothing is going to happen very soon, but maybe in 20 years, who knows what will be up there...a Moon colony/base would be the next logical step...with the ability to launch operations, satellites, probes, telescopes etc. independently of earth if necessary...also, the ability to be based on the moon, to do all sorts of research and exploration up there...obviously i am just speculating, but this is so awesome.

Yeah and all those scientists are going to need stuff. Like fast food, coffee bars, porn shops fitness centers. I'd love to have the Holiday Inn franchise. Guess I won't live to see it, but I'd jump at the chance to leave Earth.

Awesome. All we need are some people wanting to build Lagrange point bases, and it'll be that much closer to an episode of Gundam Wing!

Well, the alien race that is engaging our planet from it's base on the far side of the moon has known this for quite some time...

I heard, I wasn't thrilled. All that means is that we now have the chance to FUBAR another planet.

I wonder how long it'll be before someone sets up a bottling plant and starts selling it at 7-11?

    oh that is cute, stronzo...

so let me be the first to say, discovering water on the moon, is just a tad more important than your constant updates on the utterly useless Carrie Prejean, which your absurd post is clearly in reference to.

the discovery of water on the moon has direct implication for helping to understand the beginnings of our universe, which in turn as a direct implication on understanding *OUR PLANET* better.

and yes, this is earth shattering news, where as Carrie Prejean acting like an idiot is not.

and obviously, it is important, unlike your Carrie Prejean, she of the 4 brain cells and 5 IQ points and 7 sex tapes

    nice try, moron....you lose again.
