Agreed. I often like reading comments too but it'd be helpful to know if the notification is for an update.

When I first joined this site I found this story that I absolutely loved. I was so excited I commented as I read along, unaware of how it was getting posted. I made many people angry. I had to ask the admin to delete some of them. If they weren't all eagerly waiting for an update of this story (I'd like to believe) that their reaction wouldn't have been over the top. Maybe such a feature would help newcomers feel less unwelcome as I did then.

Feedback, especially positive feedback, is essential to that. When I get the sense that people are digging what I'm writing, it makes me want to write more. If the interest seems low (I've written some that apparently only I like, haha), it's hard to want to write more. That means fewer stories for people to read and less practice as a writer, meaning you don't get better... So, while feedback is important, I worry about a rating system having the unintended consequence of disenfranchising a new writer from getting better. Comments, especially constructive ones, are good. ... You're going to get a lot of 1 star reviews just because someone wanted a story to go a different way than it did based on their individual preference, and that is going to kill participation from authors. Conversly, the more you can do to incentivize writing, the more stories (and better) you'll get, which is good for everybody!

I hadn't considered this but I think it's important. I'm happy to enjoy a story even if it isn't perfect and I rather like seeing an author evolve. So yes, as many have said, let's allow the writer the choice to have those ratings or not.

I normally don't comment if I don't like something but can see how it can be discouraging to someone starting out, especially if people might just rate it down without reading the whole story. I've seen some complaints that the story or buildup was too long when that was exactly what made the story so special and outstanding.

I use it frequently because love the search where you can include and exclude different ratings, relationships, tags, etc. I also love that you can choose language, complete, crossover, word length. I consider it one of the best online.

Yes, please. Do add a way to exclude stuff (by hashtag or topic). The more options when refining our search, the better the experience. We might even find the perfect story that way.

Here is a big question. Would it be a big problem for you if we hosted this on a new domain and site?

I like it when things stay in the world they belong and I'd be happiest if everything related to the LPSG stayed here. But I also love stories and I'm willing to go to a sister site if the stories are worth it.


About the comments/feedback: it would be great if they actually came right after each post/chapter but with the option not to see them. Say, a + sign/replies we can click if we wanted to.
We could also have the option to receive notifications for said replies or for an update by the author only.

I really love this idea, iam a new user, but to read (and also write) erotic stories is a very great thing. I think my recently discovered desire for normal women/ guys with normal lifes who are not the typical model-girl/ guy will take a big part in the stories i will write. i also like phantasy-stuff and sports-related stories.

It just should be readable, too much sides have to tiny fonts or bad formating. I also thought about Short-Stories, who don´t need much space. They could be posted more often but need to be good formated because its alot of text to read in one take.

I'm sure it's been said to death by now but please separate out str8/gay/trans categories. Beyond that searching by tags or categories is pretty standard. Glad yall are doing this.

There are already some excellent and very well written stories on LPSG. Others ramble on a bit too much for my taste, but it takes all sorts. What I would love to see (or rather, hear) is audio erotica: horny stories to listen to, perhaps to jerk off to, during those sleepless nights.
