frankly, i loathe the Tebows.

the am having a great time watching him look absolutely atrocious at the Senior Bowl this week, and his draft stock is plummeting.

Drink Gatorade- not Hator-ade.

he is nothing more than the collegiate football face of religious facism.

He is a man who loves God and who is blessed to be one of the best football players - if not the best player in college football history. And he will continue to be blessed as he continues his career.

the bullshit about how they are just "celebrating life" is ridiculous...so what he is saying is that woman, with an unwanted pregnancy, and in dangerous health, should go against her doctor's medical advice, and risk her life, because that child might grow up to be a quarterback?

No. This is one woman's story. Pam Tebow's pregnancy experience was a threat to her health and her baby's health. She prayed to God for guidance, grace and mercy for her child and God answered her prayer. Every medical situation regarding abortion isn't one where a woman must lose the baby despite the doctor gives for an example, a 50% /50% chance of a safe pregnancy. It's a decision for the woman to make and Pam Tebow is just telling her story...of how God brought her and her baby through the danger. Her son was meant to be born and his life is it's own powerful testimony.

how fucking selfish can these people be?

the *DIFFERENCE* was that the Tebow's *PLANNED* and wanted to have him...so going against medical advice was a much easier choice for them...but for an unwed mother, who did not plan it, or was raped, and is in danger of losing her life, the Tebow's believe she should think how lucky she is because her kid could grow up to be a virginal college quarterback

No.
This is one woman's story. Every woman where abortion comes up during her pregnancy has a difficult decision to make. If this ad allows a woman to consider what could be the life of the unborn and if Pam Tebow's testimony testifies that God is faithful to those making the hardest choice in life, it is a positive and will be a blessing to those who receive it.

This $2.5M ad doesn't stop any abortions, it is wasted money.

If FoF ready wanted to stop abortions, they would have used that $2.5M to pay women not to have abortions.

The ad isn't about celebrating life nor preventing abortions, it's about marketing and making some people feel good.

I disagree. I believe parents who are in the difficult position of considering abortion may be moved by her story. It may open their hearts to allow God to speak to their spirit.

There's more to this ad than what you see on the surface. It appears that Pam Tebow didn't have a choice because in the Philippines, where she was living, abortion is illegal. The only reason she may have had a "choice" (to do something illegal in terminating her pregnancy) is because she was white, (relatively) rich and privileged over there - which is what tends to happen when you criminalize abortions - rich women still have a "choice" and poor women don't. So that's why the ad is wrong - because it's deceitful.

You described nothing deceitful in the ad. But you did reveal that you will keep trying to discredit it with a bunch of weak garbage.

I sure did, she was living in the Phillipines where having an abortion is punishable by 6 years in prison. So her "choice" was to give birth or go to jail. Oh wait, she had money so she DID have the choice to circumvent the law and terminate her pregnancy if she desired. Too bad the poor women of the Phillipines aren't afforded a similar choice. You do know that HILLARY is passionately pro-choice. It's become increasingly clear that the only reason you supported her in the primary was that she was a woman as you disagree with every one of her policiy positions.

No you didn't. You failed to describe anything deceitful in the ad...just a bunch of weak garbage. I'll spell it out for you one more time Indy. Doctors advised her to have an abortion due to the possible threat to her life and her child due to her illness while she was carrying her son. She had a difficult choice to make and she made it with God's help and blessed assurance.

You seem to be making a ridiculous argument. You are confused with what the two sides stand for. Pro-Choice advocates will need to fight to make abortions available all over the world. Pam Tebow's story is a message of Life.

-I supported Hillary Clinton because she was the best candidate for President.

I don't feel like reading all the posts, so sorry if this has been beaten to death. I don't like Tim Tebow. He spends his time trying to convert many who are already christian, and then the greater question is why people need to be converted. It is a 19th century attitude to me.

That being said, go ahead, make your commercial, it just gives me another reason to not like you. You should be allowed to state your position, just as anyone else. I am against any censorship.

For the NFL and the network that has the Super Bowl, be careful, you will face lawsuits if you reject other politically charged issues.

to kinda noodge this back on track. For those who do take the time to read the thread, and for those who don't. Tim Tebow is really not the topic here, beyond him being an allegedly unaborted fetus. His ability, his likeablity, his celebrity status as a star athlete, his awards and trophies are just a little bit beside the point.
I'm just sayin . . . .

Wow, did you just edit your post to make it more relevant after I responded? I hate when that happens.

Maybe next year Tim Tebow can make a Super Bowl ad highlighting how steady his arm is -- and not just for football. Seems he returned to the scene of his unabortion to help remove pieces of more unaborted boys. A hunky, shining example of America's Christian values!

nice.

Hey y'all, I just had an idea. What if instead of a commercial starring an unaborted celebrity athlete fetus, Focus on the Family could make one starring an unaborted child with Down syndrome? I mean, all life is precious, right?

Oh, oh! And what if it starred Sister Sarah I-can-see-Russia-from-here and her real life Down baby? I mean, she's a shining example of 'Family Values' and a committed stay-at-home Mom, right? It's just toooo perfect, isn't it?

Tebow, who has no surgical training, helped circumcise impoverished children. "You can’t do those kinds of things in the United States. But those people really needed the surgeries. We needed to help them.”

What the fuck??!!! Somebody please explain how this was "helping" them!

Ignoring the whole issue of circumcision in general, how bout botched circumcisions?
Maybe there's a reason you can't do this in the U.S. Were these 'emergency' circumcisions?
Was there nobody with medical training available?
I think my head's gonna explode now.

C'mon GF, we gotta give him that. I mean, really!

CBS has rejected a gay dating site's Super Bowl ad and now Mancrunch.com wants a bite out of the network.

Uh, yeah, about that... the Mancrunch.com ad appears to be a conservative hoax along the lines of the infamous "affirmative action" pranks by James O'Keefe III, who went a little too far recently and now faces felony charges.

“CBS Standards and Practices has reviewed your proposed Super Bowl ad and concluded that the creative is not within the Network’s Broadcast Standards for Super Bowl Sunday,” it stated. “Moreover, our Sales Department has had difficulty verifying your organization’s credit status.”
Good for CBS for actually vetting this request thoroughly. Without having to debase themselves as well by actually calling the site out, CBS graciously declared a fraud with a wink and a nod.

Some gay-friendly sites are smelling a rat.

That still leaves the question why in the world CBS would accept this Focus on the Family ad -- the network has already laid out its standards, and this doesn't meet them. I'm sure the Tisch family is plotzing.

you know what I find simply amazing? it's how large a red herring this entire abortion issue is in US politics. it is and never has been anything more than a wedge issue conservatives find a very convenient trump card whenever they need it.

from 2001 through 2008 a conservative, "born again christian" occupied the white house.

during the years 2001 - 2006 the conservative republican party held the majority in both houses of congress.

during that time they managed to push through an amazing number of damaging bills - spending, war, borrowing, raising the debt ceiling 9 times, etc, etc, etc -

and yet, YET! they never, NOT ONCE, introduced any semblance of a bill to criminalize abortion. and with a conservative majority at the SCOTUS it's easy to recognize any legal challenges to such action most probably would have been defeated.
