So I read a bunch of threads on here and a bunch of articles on the internet about weak/quick erections. Theres so many possible causes I don't even know where to start.

It could be low testosterone, over masterbation, damaged penis tissue, poor bloodflow, psychological, etc etc.

Well I'm 22 so I don't think I should be having weak erections. I can get it up but it isn't a full hard on and it needs constant stimulation or disappears awfully quickly. I rarely get morning wood or spontaneous erections. I don't really even know where to start. I've always had low energy throughout my life so maybe it could low testosterone. I'm 6'2 195 lbs so I'm certainly not overweight and I don't smoke but I don't exercise much either and I eat fairly poorly. I probably masterbate 5-6 times a week which sounds like it could be the issue too.

Anyone have any ideas where I should start? My first thoughts are to stop masterbating for a while and maybe start running and lifting weights again. If that doesn't work where should I go from there?

I doubt if your masturbating 5-6 times a week could be a cause of your weak erection. The fact that you can manage 5-6 times a week is actually a good sign.

The answer might be in your very post itself - you're not exercising regularly and eating poorly. The combination may not seem very serious but you'd be surprised at what they can do to your health and this goes for all aspects of your health. Perhaps you could start with a good exercise routine and diet plan? As far as masturbation is concerned I'd say you just do it when you feel like it. There's no need to refrain from doing it at all as many men can easily manage multiple masturbation sessions in a day, seven days a week and still have no issue whatsoever with the level of their erection.

If, however, you've gotten into a habit of exercising regularly and eating healthily for a reasonable period of time and the erection issue still persists then you should consider consulting a doctor.

    All the best.

Running and lifting is a good idea. At 22, five or six times a week isn't overdoing it lol.

Going to a doctor or a clinic and getting your testosterone tested would be a good start.

Your masturbation frequency should not be the cause. At your age you are performing well.

Regarding your eating, try eating a more balanced diet and do get more exercise. As the previous reply indicated, if this does not help after a period of several weeks, I would also urge you to seek medical help.

You are far too young to give up on this problem. I wish you the very best.

    Thnx for responses.

I got it up for a bj the other week but couldn't get up for sex the next day. I'm a little worried about the psychological domino affect it may have too. Since I couldn't get up once I may stress out over it too much and not be able to get up next time too. :frown1:

You're thinking about it too much. Performance anxiety is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Try to be more sensual and less cerebral and concentrate on what feels good. It will get hard.

I know that some people will accuse me of starting a flame war, but I'll ask anyway. Are you circumcised? Some people have issues with their circumcision or the way it was performed.

At your age, without supplements and running, you should be fine, but thats weird.

When did you start experiencing this? You should know that you are a doctor of your self, you must figure the problems/solutions.

Why don't you go to a urologist and tell him about the problem? Tell him also that you want a testosterone level check.

I'd like to hop in here. I have the same exact problem. However, I eat very healthy and workout about 4 times week. I'm 22 and not overweight at all. No morning wood, hard to get up for sex, no random erections. ABC if you make some progress please let me know.

I'd would improve diet and start working out, that helps the hormones. you are too young to be having this problem. have your cholesterol and bp checked. at age 24 I was boning my gf(now wife) 15-20 times a week. and sometimes 15 times on just a weekend,( fri, sat, sunday). that's 15 hard erections, 15 cums. at age 50, the wife jacked me every 45 minutes to an hour from 8am to noon one cold Sunday morning., mostly while I read the paper. she had had some surgery, and an errant hand movement ran into my massive erection. she could not have sex but relieved my horn problem. she was impressed, and commented that she might have to hire a maid for more than cleaning up. I am now 57 and only in the last 6 months due I have a problem with getting hard. I think it is my bp meds which I have been on for 6 months.

Ok so I've begun running 3-4 times a week and started eating a lot more broccoli and bananas (both said to naturally increase testosterone). Slight increase in erection quality already, but I still get no morning wood or spontaneous erections. But its only been a week so I guess its positive that erection quality has already increased.

I'm thinking about giving tribulus a try. I've done a ton of reading on it any can't find any side effects or dangerous reasons not to use it. Anyone think giving tribulus a try is a bad idea even though there are no reported side effects from it?

You could very well be LOW in Testosterone...or not clinically low like below the bare minimum. If you have less than 500 ng/dl your erection quality and sex drive decreases dramatically.

I have that shit too from time to time.....Just take Zinc Picolinate, squats, eat healthy, olive oil, brazil nuts, lots of water....supplements too.
