Last time I bought one in a sports shop (about 10 years ago) I spent a while trying to find the jockstraps, then saw that they were on a display behind the cash desk. So I had to ask the guy (in his 20s, I'd guess) to get me one down. He'd no idea what a jock is. I had to explain - and I think we had to get one out of the box so I could see what the pouch was made of. By the time I'd paid, there was an interesting bulge in his uniform trackie bottoms. I always wonder if he took one home later ... These days, I usually buy online as the choice is better, and if I want something other than white, then that's the only way.

Online is mostly the only way for some of the better brands or more unique ones, especially here in the UK. There’s import costs, but I don’t mind as long as I can add to my collection of them.

i wonder if someone saw the box sitting there and went over and checked to see that indeed the box was empty- because, hey- free jockstrap! Maybe someone will decide to swing buy a sporting goods store to pick one up on the way home!

As many others have said, i doubt we'll see many guys wearing them again unless those of us who own them make a decision to become advocates or brand ambassadors in a positive way.

And sadly, it's becoming impossible to "swing by a sports store" and just pick up a jock.

Once we all have the chance to do so (society restrictions removed) i think we all have a mission... each one reach one. Each of us can jock up under jeans and/or shorts, and hit the public bathrooms, beaches, and bars. Let the tee shirts creep up, drop the pants at the urinal, or bend down at the grocery store. Be sure one or two guys see your strap.

"never trust a fart!" is some of the best advice I ever got. If I could find a garment that provided the support and the anti-wedgie qualities of a jock I would wear it.

part of the whole deal of sporting a jock means you are bare assed... but outside of sports (Lacrosse comes to mind) does anyone wear a jock as a second layer- like over briefs or boxer shorts?

I do this quite a bit in the winter. Jock under boxerbriefs or long johns. I get support from the jock and warmth/coverage from the long underwear.
