100% correct. Once I put a kilt on, I feel completely confident. It's just getting over the initial reluctance.
I guess I'm past that for the most part. I have to think sometimes that "now may not be the time" to be the topic of conversation in wearing a kilt to a business meeting or some function where I might want to be unobtrusive, but I find that as people get used to me wearing a kilt (after the first few minutes) it really is about them and how THEY wish they had the balls to wear one...

So, in the last 24 hours I've been with twice from outside lspg.org with "The Kilted Coaches". The whole notion that wearing anything under a kilt is silly makes perfect sense in a land where anything under 5C is considered a cold snap and anything above 20C is a heat wave.

So if you're a Scot working up in a ski area where -10C with the wind chill, still nothing under your kilt? Can you say "extreme shrinkage"? Or those few days it hits 30C .... let your kilt get sweat soaked and leave your sweat everywhere you sit?

Nothing under a kilt EVER just doesn't seem very practical for guys living in areas that routinely get -10C and +30C for days on end.

Just curious......

I sometimes wear underwear, especially around kids and family . I don't to offend anyone. It's a nice feeling to go commando in a kilt, but I wear what I like underneath.

In my experience what's under the kilt, flesh or clothing, is a subject of speculation and curiosity. It is not revealed or discussed in public... no more than what you wear under your pants.
In the event of a legitimate accident where an unintended confirmation of what's under the kilt occurred, I would be more embarrassed than the person who saw, most likely.
An intended confirmation, though, would be a different story altogether.

You get me so damn hot with your sexy posts!!

My great-grandfather died at 105, so I had the privilege to have known
him for a few years before he died. His father, my great-great-grandfather,
was Scottish born and a military man who I understand was very strict
about the wearing of the kilt, and insisted that it be worn Regimental Style,
or au naturale. My grandfather followed the tradition when he wore his,
mostly on formal occasions, Church, or family gatherings.
I received my first Highland Dress for Christmas when I was about 9 so I
could wear it to a family wedding. Each piece of the outfit was given by
a different family member. I remember my grandfather gave me the tartan
kilt of my Gregor ancestors. My uncle gave me a beautiful sporran that
he had as a child...and included a roll of quarters to weight it down. He
sad it would help keep the kilt from blowing up with the wind and showing
my...."you know whats".....as he put it! :D

Years later, my mother made me underpants of the same kilt material to
wear during the winter, or on very windy days. I enjoyed wearing them
without underwear. I loved to be daring and wear the Highland Dress to
Frat and University dances. It gets a lot of attention...

If you ever wear a kilt at 19F which is -7C you would know that by not separating you lower body parts ..legs and groin area that you stay warmer in cold weather and cooler in warmer weather.
I never wear underwear... ever! I've kilted all over NYC in the winter. Even Helsinki, Finland in the winter. It's amazing how warm it stays under that kilt! (Subway grates are a different story!)

I would have to agree...but you would think it would be cold and drafty,
but for some reason, and I do not know why, it isn't at all uncomfortable
nor did my privates feel cold at any time....

I lived in Buffalo, NY for a while and it is cold there in the winter. I wore
it a number of times during that time, and there was no problem. I had
no problem with my legs for the knee high socks kept them warm.

Spot on, you never need anything underneath to keep you warm and subway grates turn out to be fun, bar stools do require skill unless you are happy with an exposure, likewise getting in and out of cars... but hey, your tackle stays free, warm and ventilated. Awesome!

if you do go commando wear a cock ring - the little bit of body bling to add to your swing!
Yeah, sounds like just the thing!! I do not intend to wear a stitch under the kilt as commando has become a way of life. I love my cock swinging free.
