If it made you feel uncomfortable, you should report it. First thing, though, find another gyno ASAP. It's very important for you to feel completely comfortable with a health care provider.

My GYN is somewhat flirtatious....last year when I requested an HIV test he brought me into his office and started asking me all sorts of questions about my sex life..like have I ever participated in a "train", did I like it, did I let my last sexual partner ejaculate in my mouth and did I swallow it. I played along, though, because I enjoyed it  . He's an attractive man and while I'd never have sex with him, it was fun to at least play around a little.

As a guy I have to tell you women that ALL guys are the same and there is NO way a male doctor is going to examine your vagina and NOT have any sexual feelings. (btw, I do believe that a lesbian gyn could examine a woman with it just being an examination)

I think many women don't understand how sexual men are - that is the constant sexual impulses we feel. If they did there would be no way a woman would go to a male gyn.

Well you may be speaking for yourself but you're not speaking for me or I would argue ALL men....

FWIW Honey_grrl I'm sorry you were made to feel uncomfortable in such a personal way, but you should report it or try and move past it, try not to let it prey on your mind..there are plenty more (non sex crazed) OBYGN's around.

If you can compartmentalize your sex drive that well, I say congradulations.

But in doing so, sir, I think you are very unique.

I feel most, not all, men would feel some state of arousal when walking into an examination room to see a random girl in a hospital gown who is ready to spread her legs and let you explore her vulva.

I think your comment did men and indirectly, women, an injustice...

I think most male doctors can do just that, in the same way all female doctors don't get turned on examining men and please don't say that's because that women are less 'sexual'.

Personally, in the context you are talking about I would find it most un-erotic. It's a medical procedure not an exploration.

I understand it's easy to say and hard to do but I hope it works out OK for both of you.

Newsflash.....

Men and Women are NOT the same.

Women by their very nature ARE less sexual then men. Men have evolved to always be ready for sex. This is not so for women. If you look at female chimps they go through estrus where they are most sexually receptive. For that the male chimp has to be ready. Women have a similar period that is scientifically proven. It is called [SIZE=-1]middlesmertz and is when a woman is most fertile and at the height of her sexual arousal period during the month.

Men are visually simulated while women are emotionally stimulated. Kind of why porn is so big for guys but no so for women. Women want romance. That's what generally turns them on - not to see a naked cock or pussy. And why a female doctor wouldn't react the way a male one would.

Women are better nurturers then men. Also, evolutionally true. Men went out to hunt. Women stayed back and delt with camp. This is why women are generally much better communicators and so much emotionally smarter then men - who are usually quite simple in these departments. So, a female doctor would not think sex because she would first think of your health.

gynecologists get jaded...it would be unlikely he saw you in a sexual way.
Let me ask you a question...

When you go out every day, to school or work or for a walk and see women... do you look at their asses?

Or has that gotten boring because you're jaded on that whole experience.

My BIL is an OB/GYN, I know him well, he is here just about all the time, he is not aroused by his patients. Do you know how many women he sees in one day, in a year?
That is not an erotic position. Not to mention that he realizes it is emotionally uncomfortable.

No, I do not agree.

Yongdo, I don't think your taking motivation into it. Becoming a gynocologist isn't an easy process, just as getting a doctorate in anything isn't. Doing it for kicks just doesn't happen. Besides, after studying it for years, it may have lost some of it's luster. Do anything often enough and it just becomes work, a job.

I have known doctors who became dermatologists because of the known easy hours - in fact, it's one of the most prestigeous specialties for that reason. (and hardest one to get in to)

Anesthesiologists usually get into that specialty because they know they will make alot of money and be mostly hands off. It's alot of waiting around and sometimes a few seconds of terror.

NO one becomes a Dr. to see pussy. It is just a fringe benifit for a gyn.

You people give doctors way too much credit. You talk about them like they're not just people.

Proctology- not very popular.

Say your best friend's a gyn. You tnink for one second he's not going to tell you about all the great pussy he's seen that day?

Say your other friend's a procotoligist. Do you give a rat's ass about the assholes he's been looking in? No. In fact you and your other friends make jokes about the "asshole doctor" behind his back.

Your statements sound very immuture.
Any physician that's is aroused by seeing his/her patients needs to hang up the license and call it a day.

Do you know how much malpractice insurance is for an obstetrician?
They can be sued for the next 18 years after a birth if some attorney decides the child may have a problem they can relate to the birth.
Every day this country looses more and more OB's due to this, and the ones that stick around are very dedicated.

You are doing a disservice to all men , especially men who are practicing gynecologists.
How many naive women would read these statements and feel that when they are in their doctors office, they are being ogled. How many would chose not to see a male doctor for any reason because of your statements.

Clearly you believe what you have stated. I hope one day you'll realize how ludicrous your theory is.

Ok...

I've been nailing men, my own sex, pretty bad in this thread. I've talked about the nature of men and why I think a female would make a better gyn (especially since she HAS the apparatus in the first place).

Let me make the modest proposal:
A woman who chooses the male gyn over a female one (when she has the opportunity to pick a similar female doctor) may be doing so out of a subconcious (or maybe even surface) desire for connection with the opposite sex that would not normally be condoned in society in other settings.

The reason could be as simple as titilation or as complex as the goal of marrying a doctor. But, it is there.

Women, does it feel emotionally different seeing a female gyn as opposed to seeing a male one? I'm sure it must. If feels different seeing a female doctor than a male one for me.

I think you should title your theory "This is what I would do if I were a gynecologist".

What a lame attempt at psychoanalyzing women. My male gynecologist may have saved my life several years ago. I went to see him because he was good at his job, not because I secretly wished to date him or fuck him. I now live in a different city and my OB-GYN is a woman. Does that mean I now secretly wish to be gay? Of course not. I understand why women would rather see a female OB-GYN (especially after reading about HoneyGrrl's experience), however, she shouldn't expect that response from her doc because he's a man. That's absurd.

You need to personally talk with a gynecologist before making ridiculous assumptions. Yes, the male OB-GYN sees pussy all day long. They don't just see pretty little pink pussies, they see pussies with genital warts, herpes breakouts, blood, and really smelly pussies from women who don't shower or bathe. Only a sick individual would get off on viewing this kind of stuff. And I think you're insulting those men who went into the profession to help women. They do exist.

My question to HoneyGrrl: Surely there was another nurse in the room during the examination. What was her reaction? I can't imagine a nurse tolerating that kind of behavior. You should talk with her and see if she'll back you up on your complaint.

That's a good point, Mercurialbliss. I've had a woman gynecologist for years, but went to a man before that. I don't remember ever being examined without a nurse present... a female nurse!

:flirt:

I have pushed a little of the details out of my head because the whole matter disturbed me a little:mad: There was a female nurse in the room, but I can't remember her name:confused: I can consult my (future)father in law who is a doctor at the same hospital, and I'm confidant he can track her down,I plan on pursuing this as a legal matter, the man coulden't be "jaded" already,he is only in his early to mid thirties,I believe he is just a simple pervert, who gets off from harrassing women and making them feel uncomftorble:mad: I have a female OBGYN now,so I'm happier:smile:
