This thread kinda hits home for me, because I got an interesting call from my 19 year old cousin the other day. We're both gay, and he's always kind of asked me for advice about a number of things. I'm 27.
Anyhoo, he calls me up and tells me he just got tested and is HIV positive. Did I mention he's 19? In the course of the shocked and emotional conversation that followed, I asked if he knew from whom he contracted the virus. He had been having sex with a boy for a couple of months, and he said he was sure he got it from this kid, as the kid was the only sexual partner my cuz had ever had. He got tested because several of his friends were getting tested for one of those "promise" programs at his school. I forget the name of the program. Anyway, the age of this kid he was sleeping with? 16.
Bottom line... I don't know if Koty is lying or not, and for my part, I think it's irrelevant. I agree with Snoozan that he's read the advice, and will either take it or leave it. His posts just illustrate an extremely alarming problem that has touched my life as well... teenagers having unprotected sex because they are too ashamed and immature to purchase the necessary items for responsible sexual play. They are obviously to young to be having sex period.
So, Koty, if you are still reading this thread, I'm not going to tell you what to do, because you're going to do what you want anyway. All I'm saying is that you can't assume anything about anyone's sexual history. Just because someone tells you that he or she is clean or a virgin doesn't make it so.
In answer to your question, I have to have lube, so I suggest you buy some, along with a box of fabulous Magnums. They are great, I love them. Most comfy condoms I've ever used.
