Haha, swedish and american culture sure is different.. I've never had a PB&J sandwich. ;P
None of my friends ever do either.. I think. xD

Then you've missed out on the greatest sandwich ever created. Brilliant in its simplicity; The combination of salty and sweet. Nothing else satisfies like a PB&J when you just need...something. (and I didn't grow up in the USA).

It's rumored that the only thing inside Fort Knox are giant boxes of Reece's Peanut Butter Cups. It's true. I heard it on Oprah.

And now for the "official" recipe.

1. Whack off two big slices of fresh bread.
2. Slather a giant glob of peanut butter on one.
3. Stack up sliced bananas on the other.*
4. Figure out how to slap them together.
5. Fry in butter until golden on both sides (use at least a half a stick).

Cut on the diagonal and serve while tongue burning hot with a little confectioner's sugar on a chipped dish.

Ok I'm not getting cookies but I got a recipe. Now I just need the money for PB......digging in the couch..

Two question's:
Only 4 chocolate chips :frown1: can I add more?

Do I have to do the final step of oil removal or can I just snag them of the sheet after cooling? Chomp...:biggrin1:

What a cookie monster!!!

For truly superior cookies, forgo the chocolate chips and go straight to a block/bar of chocolate. Chop it roughly and throw it in your cookie dough for amazingness.

I find choc chips are a bit disappointing in flavour and texture, never as high quality, and usually contain weird stabilisers to keep the chocolate it that droplet shape, even after high temperature baking.

Do it! Chop your chocolate instead of pouring it. You will never, ever look back.

I absolutely LOVE PB & Nutella sandwiches! A few years ago, a company combined PB and chocolate in one spread, but I didn't like it as much as using PB & N separately. I don't think it was very popular because I can't see it at the supermarket anymore.

The one thing I hate about Nutella, is when it nearly solidifies in the jar during Winter making it near mpossible to spread.

Sorry, M-L-B.....my filthy mind always gets the better of me!

That's if it even makes it to the bread! I usually just eat big heaping spoonfuls straight from the jar! :biggrin1:

I've never had it last long enough to solidify. One of my other favorite snacks is taking a spoonful of Nutella and another spoon of peanut butter and put them together and put in the freezer for a few minutes and you have an instant Reece's Peanut Butter Cup.

Oh, all this talk of peanut butter is making me hungry :-(

PB on toast is a favourite, although I prefer honey to "jelly" (which I presume is jam for those of us on the other side of the pond) if I want a touch of sweet.

Close. They're almost the same. Jam is made of fruit pieces whereas jelly is made only from fruit juices.

hey nudeyorker

PEANUT BUTTER & CO.
240 Sullivan Street, New York
(btw. West 3rd and Bleecker)

have you tried this place? i ordered my dad peanut butter from there. it's so good. travel channel did an hour show on the 10 best places in the country to get sandwiches---and this place was one of the ten.

My grocery store keeps this stuff stocked. I've tried them all, so good!
