OK< so what were you expecting? I hate to repeat what the other's have said, but I doubt Monday night was the HOT night. Do you know of ANY PLACE where Monday night is the HOT NIGHT? Methinks you did not follow ebjay's rules for enjoying a bathhouse.

Do not settle. If you don't like any of the guys there then just relax and enjoy being in a gay environment, enjoy the saunas and the showers and steam rooms. Don't get desperate for someone as your time there comes to an end. Bathhouses can be like bars that way.

Part of learning is trial and error and you chose the wrong bathhouse. I used to live in LA and have a good idea about the sauna options the city has. Midtowne Spa is definitely rundown and seedy and the clientele tends to be "rough around the edges"...and not in the good way. The one which Domisoldo refers to is the Hollywood Spa. That place has plenty of preening, gym bunny types often tweaking on crystal. Most of them have so much attitude and wouldn't dream of having sex with an actual mortal. It's a big waste of time. Check out the Flex Spa on Melrose just past the 101 freeway. You have real guys who are looking to connect with other real guys. There is also a big, secure parking lot out front which will give you an indication as to how busy the place is. (I repeat my advice about Sunday afternoons). Jason Els has done a very good deed by reprinting Ebjay's sage advice on bathhouse etiquette. He's done an even bigger service by advising you to hook up with more 39 year olds.
