You...have an AWESOME view on cars!!! lol I like the new "muscle" cars in production...but nothing beats a pre-technology muscle car... My favorite is the 1970 Chevelle SS...with a 454. Your dad had a 396?

Thanks! I like the look of a few of the newer models as well, but I'm in lust with the older models. I admit when Chevy came out with the new Bumble Bee, I had a few moments of love... but it faded. The look is nice but it's not the same ride or the same rumble. A sexy car should sound like a big cat rumbling and purring. Ugh, the honda street cars and such give me the willey's, no thank you.

Yeah, I believe my Dad's was a 369, black... well it was primer grey while it was being rebuilt, but eventually it was black. I loved it the whole time. Some of my best childhood memories are laying on that car watching the fireworks on fourth of July, smelling the little cherry cigars he smoked sometimes.

I can't argue with this at all...but with that...nothing can be said about ANYONE until you get to know that.

Am I to assume that everyone here is the upstanding type of person who NEVER thinks anything about anyone until they "get to know" them? Not one thought, what so ever, passes through your mind at first site of a person? NOTHING?!

For the most part, I'm not into cars. I'm also not into making rash judgments of people because I don't think that they're accurate. I don't believe individuals are so simple that you can understand them at a glance.

I pass all kinds of judgments on the fly before I get to know someone, but for me, the car isn't one of the things that strongly influences how I pigeonhole someone - not unless that person is driving a vehicle with a particularly strong personality, like a Hummer. Although, if I met someone who drove a Hummer, I think I might try to figure out why they're driving a Hummer because I'd be trying to figure out what's going on there that made that person make that choice, unless it was covered in bumper stickers that made that person fit too easily into a stereotype. If someone drove a Hummer and had Obama, pro-choice, and "Eat locally. Think globally." bumper stickers, that would make me curious. So I suppose that if I really notice your vehicle, it means that I've noticed something I think is interesting.

The guy who was into VW buses? Not a hippy or into Phish, which is the kind of quirky thing that made me go, "That's interesting." Not fitting into any stereotype made me pigeonhole him as someone with an interesting quirk, which made me more interested in getting to know him. Is that the kind of thing you mean?

I guess that would've been a better way to ask my question. "What kind of interest does a man's car spark in your mind? If any." I know different types of cars bring on all sorts of different reactions and thoughts....THAT'S actually what I was looking to ask.

Thanks. It ALWAYS takes a well spoken women to help me convey myself properly lol.:sly:

Yep, I was the same way with the new Camaros. The love soon faded away after I started seeing the RIDICULOUS mods people put on them. The new technology in the cars makes them a little weak. The newer cars mostly rely on computers instead of muscle. So the rumble has died a little.

And I have A LITTLE respect for tuner and import cars when they're tastefully done. A loud ass pipe and an grotesque body kit does not garner my respect lol. I too share a LUST for the older model muscle cars. But a well planned, well built, well maintained Toyota Supra, or Nissan Skyline....makes me drool too.

Sorry, to new age pretty for me. I plan to stay old fashioned, drooling at the old styles. 1965 Buick Riviera, need I say more *fans.*

Of course, a vehicle is just a vehicle... CLEAN is still my number one. I can't say that certain types of vehicles don't attract lingering looks, but a vehicle wouldn't make me immediately interested or disinterested in the guy driving it.

This is the only car that could say something intelligible about its owner:

I have two cars...one for fun and one for practical reasons. :) 89 Jeep Wrangler and a 2011 Kia Soul... I love Muscle cars...Old school Mustangs, Camero's and Challengers...*the new Challengers and Camero's are sexxy too* But my dream is a Ford F150 Supercab *short bed* Black...no striping...big wheels. *my inner redneck wins* :) When it comes to guys and cars....I don't care. Just hope they keep what they drive Clean inside and out if they ever want me in the car with them. :) Nothing less sexxy than having to move trash outta the way just to sit down and you have to keep the windows up in fear that all the papers will fly around the car when you drive. lol

For some people their vehicles are merely functional, like so many people I know whose vehicle choices depended upon which ones could carry all the family members, a car seat, and the family dog at once, while being as gas efficient and reliable and safe as possible. It's a car that represents family and saving money.

For some people their car is an object of aesthetic or mechanical beauty that is personally appreciated. I know someone who collects old VW buses and loves to take various parts of them to create "new" models.

For some people, their car represents what they want other people to perceive about them, that they're rich or cool or popular with women or men. This can even be true about the beater, which can represent someone who isn't obsessed with appearance or so-called status, if they hope that others will interpret that about themselves.
Well put!

Are you Ford or Holden, then?
I'm Holden when it comes to Aussie cars, but Ford in the UK, oddly. :/

Gimme a Commodore over a Falcon, but a Mondeo over an Insignia, lol.

Just a questions I've always wondered in my mind. What exactly does a man's car say about him. How do women perceive a man's choice of transportation? I've owned a ton of different cars. From an old nissan, to muscle cars, to a Mercedes coupe, even had a truck for a little while. But each car drew the attention of a different type of women.

How much, if at all, does a man's car register to you? It's an odd question, but one I've always wanted an answer to.

High up car/truck/SUV = small penis
big rims on car/truck/SUV = small penis

First of all I want to say... I can't believe this thread has not been reported to the moderators... this thread is soooooo not a woman's issue (but whatever) If you want it moved fine... if not that's fine too. but my take on this is the type of car anyone drives depends on where they are in their life in terms of what they can afford and how they feel about cars... My first car was a hand me down car and in the middle of my car owning life I lived in the Caribbean and just needed an island car. But in order of my cars owned... (as posted in two other thread) It's odd that the car I started with as a hand me down is the car that I ended up with by choice...

I love smart cars, any EV really. A person who drives something like that is often super appealing to me. I like the idea that they might care about green party ideals, long-range environmental issues, stuff like that.

That said, I don't have any basic pre-conceived ideas about men and their particular car choice. I might like if a guy makes a greener choice, but I don't make judgments otherwise.
