Ash Wednesday to Easter sunday

The idea is that giving up something you love makes you appreciate everything more at the end and is suppose to strengthen your spirit

Lent is from Feb 22to April 5 (46 days) so its not all that long but at the same time... lol

I did that when I was in my 20's and the doctors told me my husband was not going to make it (after some serious surgery)... I faced several days with no idea whether I would be an early widow or not.

Long story short.... he lived and I have learned to appreciate every THING around me and every day with him and my family and friends....

wasn't 46 days but sure seemed like it. (He WAS in ICU/SICU for 6 wks though)

does that count?

If not, I'm certainly glad to hear that masturbation, sex are exempted from the list of "goodies" for these are the treats I love best.
