When I was young I swore I was going to be either in forensics or an archeologist and join the peace corp. Never did.

In college I started out to be a doctor, then studied business and interior design, got a degree, then never used them.

After college, I decided I wanted to travel the world, so I worked for the airlines and accomplished it on a very tight budget, and then married at 23, when I swore and promised my mother I would never marry until I was at least 30.

I then decided to become a paramedic, but I make my salary in 911 dispatch.

Now I am getting ready to go back to school in the medical field, but I would still love to go into forensics as well.

My dream now is to make up my mind!!

I didnt have time to think about what i wanted to be. I was a father in highschool and had to get out and work. Failed marriage and about 20 years in a self induced hell i wound up with the woman of my dreams. So in that way all my dreams have been fufilled. So in that way i think i really made something of myself. I am her husband.

When you were younger, and your heart was an open book, what did you want to do for a living?
what was your passion?

now that you are all grow'd up...
what do you do?

Since I was 10 years old, all I wanted to do was be a musician.

now I am 30, and I work at a grocery store, and I am trying to get back into school.

When I was a kiddie, I wanted to be a pilot for Concorde. Fly supersonic transport planes transcontinental/international. I wanted to live in France and speak French. (This was after watching one of those "Airport" movies with George Kennedy and Alain Delon). Alain Delon sounded sexy speaking French. I wanted to be sexy like Alain Delon. My mom was amused. I was a black boy...how in the hell was I EVER going to BE Alain Delon? Hehehe.

Now, I am trying to get a new business enterprise as an entrepreneur. (So, I did learn some French after all. ):biggrin1:

Let's see here.................

I'm standing on top of a giant pyramid, naked except for the Sun God robes that are wide open in the front and back. Below me are THOUSANDS of amazingly beautiful and really buff naked men and women all screaming my name and throwing little pickles at me......................

Oh, wait. You mean what aspirations did I have. Ooops. :biggrin1:

Ok. when I was a little tyke, In my wildest dreams I always wanted to be a police officer. My wildest dream got murdered by reality. I got there via computer programmer and stripper first. I did alright at it and even made officer of the year once. (the mayor was not too happy as she *really* did not like me :firedevil: not that I cared)

I guess the next dream wasn't really a dream. While being in law enforcement, I had a knack for making my old Chrysler cruiser run awesomely well, and even made it handle better than those stupid caprices. I discovered that I loved to race, even if i was the only one on the road. So, I took several vacations, and took racing courses such as the Bondurant high speed school of driving. Even went to California and took the stunt driving school. Someone got wind of my driving skills, a few things happened, and before I knew it, the "agency" let me take their driving school. Talk about James Bond stuff!! THAT was interesting. I then taught many police officers how to drive, so if you're going through Oklahoma, watch out!! There's several officers that can make those Crown Vics handle better than a Lotus. About 3 years after I left the force, an owner of a limousine company hunted me down through a mutual police friend. I became the only security driver in the state. It was fun. I got to chauffeur some *VERY* important people and several televangelists. (big deal :rolleyes2: )

Now, I'm working on getting my butt back in school to finish my electrical and computer engineering degree. I have also managed to invent a generator that's easily adaptable to a house and cars (equipped with electric motors) that I have no doubt will solve the world's energy needs, and make every country non-dependent on oil. I just don't know how to get the patent on it. I guess right now my current dream is getting that darn patent.

I wanted to be the Dunkin Donuts guy... then, I opted for pediatrics. Maybe it could have turned out differently, but getting through bio and chem just made me pissed, and I really wanted to get down to the caring for others bit. I also dreamed of going to Harvard.

Instead, happier, I went to a great lib arts college and studied all sorts of stuff. I'm still a lackey. I work as a health counselor and do some other crap on the side, but I'm going for a Ph.D. in sociology. I would be comfortable teaching at the college level, doing research, or working in public policy for a nonpartisan group.

I always wanted to be a writer. I knew it when I was 7 or 8 years old. And that is what I grew up to be with a lot of pit stops, shit stops and hassles along the way.

But I wouldn't have changed anything. The only edit I would have made to my life was to quit agonizing and have more fun.

When I was really little i wanted to be a meterologist....
It didn't take me long to realize that money runs all...
and that I'm a complete cynic.
Now, I'm pre-law..
and on a hard, hard, long, competitive road to make partner.

My eventual path in life is sorta unrealistic and tends to be scoffed at by most people so I'll leave that a mystery.
