I am a HUGE music lover! If I tried to list ALL my favourite songs, I'd be stuck here for the rest of my life! So I'll just give you the two most important songs in my life - they're hardly 'new' like you wanted, but they are favourites.....

The very first song I fell in love with (and still love nearly 30 years later):
YouTube - QED - Everywhere I Go (1983)

My favourite song of all time:
YouTube - Mondo Rock - State Of The Heart (1980)

"State Of The Heart" actually pre-dates "Everywhere I Go" but I didn't hear it until 88 or 89

Please watch:
YouTube - Jan Werner - Air

This is Jan Werner singing Air. Performed @ 2003 Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo, Norway.
It may not be to your taste but just watch this late singers amazing vocal talent and please do not comment on his look/appearance.
I truly think that this is the best ever male vocal performance and without a doubt is world class

I don't have favorite songs per se but I usually will get a song stuck in my head depending on my mood. So today's song is Kelis' Milkshake -- I love dirty songs, lol ;-)

this won't excite you, but my favorite song is "Past the Point of Rescue" by Hal Ketchum. My ex bf Steven was hit by a semi in 2003. I spent every day driving 2 hours to UW Madison to see him, and two hours back. He was in a coma for 5 weeks. When he woke up, his homophobic parents told him I abused him, including pulling his catheter out several times. He broke up with me and told me how lousy a person I was. I was never mad at him because I would never try to challenge his family.

I have the best boyfriend in the world right now, but a small piece of me will always belong to Steven even though he hates me. So this is appropriate:

"I wonder if I am past the point of rescue, is no word from you at all the best that you can do? I never meant to push or shove you. Do you know how much I love you? No you don't. But I do"
