Oh cool thread!

These are bridges I have actually been on. Admirer of many many others!
Rio-Antirio Bridge Greece
Sydney Harbor Bridge, Australia
Brooklyn Bridge, New York
Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco
Charles Bridge, Praha
Ponte Vecchio, Firenze

I'd have to put GG Bridge, Ponte Vecchio, and Brooklyn Bridge as my faves.

You've all mentioned and posted pics of some truly beautiful bridges--too many to comment on each of them. It makes me realize how many places I haven't been, of how many things I haven't seen.

Although the suspension bridges have an aesthetic that is clean, simple, elegant, and magnificent, having looked at all these pics I find myself drawn to a more "earthy" aesthetic. I quite like the stone bridges, and being a New England boy, I'm quite fond of covered bridges. I also like the little walking bridges that are for people, not cars.

UKBBW Denise, the Clare Bridge is charming.

dumbcow, the Tarr Steps. Wow, what a remarkable piece of history.

exwhysee, the Ponte Vecchio. It's beautiful. A bridge which shops an apartments? I've never seen anything like it. What a place to live!

Here's another modest contribution from my little corner of the world: The Memorial Bridge in Springfield, Mass.

How could I forget Tarr Steps? This is a prehistoric bridge in Somerset which is estimated as 3000 years old. I've been there many a time and it is absolutely a fantastic slice of history. (The river is freezing )

Yes, this is fantastic, but I can't tell what the materials are. Probably has been replaced and rebuilt over the centuries.
