I've done a few online programs and have a personal trainer.
Honestly I feel like my trainer not having a program for me is a bit irritating for me. Like I went in hoping to improve form and fix my postures/do exercises for recovery. He just kind of wings it every week. Like I honestly feel some of the personal trainers from local gyms are kind of amateurs who trains like a bro.
As far as online programs go I have tried:
Ryan Spiteri—not bad, diet plan includes condiments which isn't common to see. but despite marketing as custom diet plans I have confirmed with the facebook group everyone gets the same thing.
Sadik Hadzovik—hands down the worst. Responses range from 3-7 days. False marketing saying it's him but it's actually a group of random supports answering your emails. Not even trainers, like if you ask him how to do something, you wait 3 days and you get responses like "look it up on youtube man!" And his plans are not cheap. Avoid at all cost. Generally I don't mind if I buy a program from someone and they tell you you'll be working with one of their coaches and it would be the same coach. But this dude, not only is it not the same person responding everytime, the response speed is sloowwwwww. Also has you working out 20 exercises a day. I was at the gym 3 hours a day with 1-2 min rest period.
John Pinder—great coach, great program, old school but effective. The only downside is not being able to have him in person and correct me when i do things wrong. He was able to tell what I did wrong through a simple message and he'll call you to tell you what to do, what you did right and what you did wrong. Great at breaking down macros. I would say if you are intermediate to advanced, he's a great coach. If you are beginner but has had personal trainer to work on your forms for the basic lifts, he's also a great coach.
Also got Jeff Nippards powerbuilding program. I browsed through it, and the 6 day shifts between full body 1 week and upper lower next. It does focus on high weight and low rep which I don't tend to do since I train alone and don't want to weight to drop on me.
What have you tried and what do you like?
5/3/1 I know is common but I'm just not working towards the powerlifter look. I don't care if I can only lift a pea as long as I look good lol
