I am re- reading "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" before I start the last and final book. I have deftly avoided hearing about it so no body tell me about it , OK? I cant hear you! I cant hear you! :biggrin1:

Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas Hofstadter

I'm not that far in to it, but I can't put it down. I read The Prince by Machiavelli on my way home from vacation.

The GEB is an old favorite.

Presently reading:
The 'Color of Summer', Reinaldo Arenas, I recommend anything of his.
Also 'The Long Tail', Why the Future of Business is selling less of more, Chris Anderson.

Previously, 'Evening in the Palace of Reason', Bach Meets Frederick the Great in the Age of Enlightenment, James Gaines,
'Last Summer', Michael Thomas Ford,
'The Habsburg Monarchy', Robin Oakey.

I'm reading Naked Lunch at the moment and I'm only like 60 pages in and I have absolutely next to no idea what the hell is going on so far. I've no idea who the main character is, what's going on, what "junk" is or what these weird creatures are he keeps talking about.

Don't expect to be much clearer on that once you've finished the book either. William Burroughs is a head trip.

Currently proofreading my mothers genealogical manuscript. Riveting. Not.

I highly recommend- Life of Pi by Yann Martel. This is possibly the best story I've ever read. Treat yourself to this book but don't read anything about it as most of the links I just found spoil the joy of the journey's discovery.

That's encouraging - I had a vague idea what I was in for when I started the book, but I didn't realise it was going to force my brain to dribble slowly down my ear. I keep reading it on the London Underground and because of the level of concentration it requires from my brain, it's frequently caused me to miss my stop on more than one occaison now.
