I've gone to three in my long and less than stellar academic career:
Eastern Michigan University (Ypsilanti, MI)
University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN)
Metropolitan State University (St. Paul, MN)

The "Yankee" thing:
I went to Virginia about 3 years ago wearing a St. Paul Saints (one of the local minor league teams) baseball t-shirt and walked in stores named "Southern Exposure" with Confederate flags in them....and someone heard my "accent" and said .... "you must be a Yankee, where you from?" "Wisconsin" "Oh - what regiment?"
Members of my far extended family (some 140 years ago, mind you), burned Atlanta...of course, I didn't tell her that.
The point being that The Civil War flame still burns in some places..particularly in places where there were battles...like Fredericksburg where I was.
That said, when I was in France, on m'avait appelle "Yankee" aussi. But that was because I was an "amerloque". I took no offense from either situation.
@ Spandex_bulge_wi and two fister: Another fellow Badger Stater here...but I live close enough to MN that I go to school (part time) there - and for CHEAPER than I'd pay to go to school in WI (how's that for getting back on topic as to education?)
