I'm curious as to if people spent last years government stimulus checks or socked most of it away in savings and if those checks had any affect in the economy.

I spent my $600 but I think most went to pad the lining of Chevron's profits by filling up my gas tank at $80 a pop.

I was of the understanding that I was supposed to get $600... (Single mother, one child, made less than $20k in a year) but my check was only for $300. I blew it all on fun stuff I wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford.

Spent it on a monthly transit pass and my cell phone payment

IMHO if we are going to have a bon fire with a few trillion...why not give everyone a massive federal tax holiday..THAT will pump capital in the pipeline and get things moving. Hell, were gonna have 40% inflation in a few months anyway...so why not? lol
