What did you letter in?

    Last night I was doing some spring cleaning and came across a box of old stuff, pictures, ticket stubs, mementos, and my varsity letters. Talk about a tidal wave of happy memories!

    I lettered in Choir and Flag Twirling (tall flags)

    So, how many of you lettered in high school? In what activity did you letter?

    At my school, they only awarded letters in athletics.

    My honors and awards were in music and general academics.

    We get awards in Canada, but I "lettered" in track, choir, drama, volleyball, badminton and debate.

    Don't be too impressed though, it was a small school:redface: :rolleyes:

    'lettering'??? Mmmmm...A new one on me!!:confused: If my old school gave them out I think the two they'd give me would be 'F' and 'O'.....:tongue:
    But I blame Thatcher for taking my milk away!!:mad:

    Hockey, Rugby (could not afford the insurance to have a football team AND a hockey team), Debate, Baseball.

    Univeristy lettered in hockey, baseball, and drinking (not officially recognized).

    I lettered in nothing. But if I had to make up something, I would say I lettered in note-writing during class.

    Football, swimming, diving, Lincoln/Douglas debate, and Future Problem Solving.

    At least, those were the ones represented on my jacket. People from my school might tell you I lettered in the Drill Team, too...just not in the manner they gave patches for. :wink:

    We did not letter in the Arts but I received awardsand scholarships in Art ,Vocal Music, Drama. I also wrote and performed on the piano the class song.

    Only athletics got letters at my school, but they include marching band/cheerleading in that. I lettered in XC (dual sported one fall, it sucked), Soccer all 4 years, Swimming (did it one year, not my favorite), and Track all 4.

    Glad to be done with coaches and organization. Now I can do local races and soccer tournaments with friends whenever I want, not when I have to.

    Cross country and track. It was a start on learning how to be social, before that all I had was a pocket protector and a slide rule.

    Hey, I still have my slide rule<g>. I was a computer geek when computers were room sized and modems sent 300 baud<g>.

    I received letters in tennis, football as well as in History, Drama and General Excellence.
    Received two scholarships for college. In college awarded for Drama, History,
    Design and Tennis.
    I also excelled as a few other things that were not part of the actual college program. :wink:

    Pussy! Thats the only thing i was any good at. In those early years i somehow in between burning braincells and becoming a father at age 16 tought myself piano and sing somewhat. I was born with a musical ear and basically can play anything after i figure the timing out. I have a Roland and a Chamberlain. :smile:
