If you surf LPSG (except the Politics Forum) I think we have more in common than not. Let's share our solidarity. I'll start...
Sometimes no matter what I project I don't think people understand where I am coming from.
    What are your thoughts?

Whenever I begin a large project, invariably people come into my life and sit around waiting for me to fail. I never have. And not to be sexist, but most of those negative onlookers have been women.

By the way, I'm using the double meaning of project and projecting myself as the same thing.

I feel you, man. There are definitely times when I think my passion and who I truly am are understood by no one. It's strange feeling alone in a place full of people.

As for not being understood, I did make the mistake several years ago of asking a woman at a taco stand, "Quisieria tres tacos de maricas, por favor." I was tired and had spent most of the day with people who spoke French and English, so I just pulled the closest word in Spanish that resembled mariscos (seafood) out of the word salad swirling in my head.

What I had inadvertantly asked for without thinking was "I would like three faggot tacos, please."

We're all alive and need food. I think after that the similarities end.

Well, you should always speak your mind and reveal whatever you feel...unless you are in the Politics forum. :biggrin1: For those who LIVE in the POLITICS forum...WE REALLY, REALLY UNDERSTAND THAT YOU DON'T LIKE OBAMA AND LOVE GEORGE W.BUSH.

I think that I could have a lot in common with many folks. If people hate me...I can't help that. I can only be me. I sleep pretty well most nights.

I think alienation for me becomes more of a reality a I grow older....maybe that alienation is a fantasy? But I feel it more so. I don't see friends as often as I'd like, I have less tangible contact with the immediate family. I'm slightly more cynical....isn't that par for the course in life?

It's rare in life that we truly connect, have real understanding with some body in the physical world, let alone via the internet. So putting something out there, here or there, can't be free, there's always an element of fear attached.

As things are progressing, I am proud to announce that I am happily looking forward to Grumpy Old Mandom! Then I can project all I want and not give a fuck about anyone misunderstanding me, as, the way things are going, I'll be assuredly deaf by then anyways!:biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1:

If people want to understand other people, they need to be able to be objective. Age, nationality, orientation, social, educational, religious and political backgrounds have to be overcome from a subjective perspective. However, it would be hard not to find some of the former that you have in common with everyone. And then they say that opposites attract and birds of a feather flock together.

I eat and breathe through my mouth and shit and fart through my anus. I think that's true of everybody, whatever else some may do with those orifices.

Well, we all come from different walks and situations of life. People EVEN have different goals in life as well. Disconnection happens. We are all at different mindsets and moods at differing times of the day.

If you ever meet people you can actually be honest and frank with and be able to have a REAL conversation with. Understanding will come along. Sometimes feelings are abstract. But if you are human and living...that is to be expected.

    Yes. I agree.

One thing that I have learned ... but don't always remember to do ... is: if something is important to me, I need to think about how I want to tell people about it. If I need someone's help or support, I try to remember to see it from their viewpoint before I jump in and tell them about it.

I get so pumped and psyched about some stuff that I'm bad at telling people about it. I'm too close to the emotion and don't have enough perspective yet. I'm also better at communicating in writing than in person (but I'm much better at communicating verbally with larger groups than I am one-to-one).

    Okay....I'm not inhibited so I'll have a go!!!! ;-)

I can be MOODY!!!! My mood can change about a zillion times in the course of a

day!!! I am Cancerian so I dunno if it's to do wiv this???

But probably!! Most of these changes in mood are pretty superficial though....

I appear cheerful most of the time so people would not know I was havin THE bad mood!!! Or the many changes of mood!!!

I don't take it out on people either....well I really try not to, but TRUST ME the mood IS THERE!!!!

Simple things make me happy!!! I can be superhappy wivvout drugs or drink!!!

I say what I think and am very honest and sometimes people don't know how to take that.....

    I love wholeheartedly....

i'm very determined and shit at admitting defeat....if things don't go my way I can go into deep dark sulks!!! Real sulkathons...

    I play to win!!!

    x
