Give a place name and the next poster needs to come up with the correct name for the people from there and give a more place name. Object is to stump the next poster - last poster who can stump all other posters here wins.

Bonus points if you call out an incorrect answer.

    First Poster:

A person from California is called...

    Next poster:

    Californian

A person from Zimbabwe is called...

This "game" couldn't be lamer. When it's so obtuse that we need to be given "instructions", indeed.

I guess I'm a New Yorker. What fun!!

Rivendalians sounds nicest. Unless you meant Rivendell, but that's someplace else entirely.

This is a tough one and no cheating. What do you call the people of the country of San Marino?

Oooh! I get more extra points!

    There are two acceptable demonyms:

Sammarese and Sammarinese. I know, it's weird. It's a term I ran across once and determined that it would be very important to know in case I ever went to or met anyone from San Marino. I have yet to do either. Hmmph.

This is tough. I know the demonym is Manx, but I've only heard it used as a collective plural. Individual Manx people I've only heard described by the terms Manxman or Manxwoman. Something tells me this is a trick question...:33:

I believe the people of Isle of Man are refered to as just 'Manx'. Maybe someone from the UK can enlighten us.

People from the Greek island of Lesbos are indeed called Lesbians. I think.

    Kansas Citian

    People from Massachusetts are called....

Though I'm certain it's unofficial, here in New York they are sometimes called Massholes. This is a tough one and I truly didn't know it until I looked. I'm kind of embarrassed as I know so many from Mass including my father!

And yeah, residents of Lesbos are indeed Lesbians.
