What do you consider to be the golden era of porn?

I know the “golden age of porn” is technically considered to be the 70s and early 80s, but what do you consider to be your personal favourite era of porn?

Maybe it’s because it coincides with me coming of age, but for me it’s the mid 00s to early 10s.

I’m a fan of the performances of this era. I feel like top porn stars during this period generally conveyed more authentic enthusiasm than today’s stars.

I also liked the the aesthetic and direction of the scenes. I just wish the quality was better - I have to admit the video quality of modern porn is a big plus.

Some of my favourites included Rebeca Linares, Jenna Haze, Gianna Michaels, Sandra Romain, Rachel Starr and Belladonna.

I thought Stoya and Sasha Grey were good, but a bit overrated IMO.

There was also some good male talent like Nacho and Lex.

40-50 years ago I liked that there was still a novel element to porn. So they might show something out of the ordinary in a straight production like selfsucking.

In recent years I appreciate that there are more scenes with things I personally find hot, like rimming, DVP, DAP etc

But to be a bit more specific, I'm fond of early to late 00s material. Pre-HD, pre tube site stuff. I find most modern porn to be far too slick for my tastes, I like it to feel a little scrappy.

That said, I'm entirely talking about pro stuff here. The boom in amateur porn since pornhub and onlyfans became cultural mainstays has been wonderful to live through.

Mid 1970's to early 1980's. My parents got our first VCR in the early 80's and I would rent 2-3 VHS video's per weekend when they were out of town. Back then, they were real movies with scripts and the porn actors really knew how to act. A horny young man when I was 21 LOL!!!

To me it was the 70's era. I say that because porn was so much more natural back then. Women and men had natural bushes and beautiful bodies weren't covered with tats and hair not dyed pink or green. I guess you would have to have grown up in my era.

80’s-90’s. They were actual pornstars. There’s been big names in the last 20 years or so but I wouldn’t say any actual stars bc the market has been saturated.
