What emergency do you envisage that might mean you need to lay your hands on $6,500 within a few minutes?
I live in Southern California. An 8+ earthquake could disrupt transportation and financial services for days; a 9+ quake could have me disconnected for well over a week.

The $6,500 includes my Vegas cash (the fees to get cash from plastic are horrendous over there and I don't want to deal with getting credit from a casino).

Granted, $6,500 is probably more than I would need just for myself for a week or two, but not all of my friends plan for emergencies (recently, I have found that a few aren't even planning for retirement).

In the last 4-5 weeks, I have misplaced at different times: a debit card, credit card, membership card and my keys to the jacuzzi. Oh, yeah... and $6,500 in cash I keep for emergencies. I know the cards aren't being used; I am reasonably certain all of it is within 20 feet of where I am sitting as I write this, just not in their regular places.

Are you a survivor of the Depression of the 1930's?

I lose or rather my nail clippers are never returned, my son takes them and he must have toenails of steel cos he always breaks them.

LOL! It must be a male thing. My Dad was always asking where the toenail clippers were. He'd lose them too. And my toenails are like steel...

OMG! How many times can I misplace my house keys?! Don't really loose them because I always leave them at work, or at friends or even the every now and again when I go to the gym. Arrrgh! Because then I end up loosing my mind and that is not so good...lol. I would say they get misplaced about once every two weeks. Thankfully I always get them back and even more thankfully I can always count on my bf.
Oh, and that reminds me, I did loose the first ring he ever gave that was a commitment band....can we say dog house for weeks....but he did replace it on our anniversary....haven't taken it off since or ever.
