... Having spent many an hour discussing it with women here and in person, I'm led to believe that "female porn" involves "real" orgasms, gentle caressing, passionate kisses, a story line and several other exceptionally boring, mundane things in any combination... If I wanted that, I'd go watch late night channel 4/5
I don't know late night channel 4/5... don't think we have something like that in Belgium.
I guess it all comes down to how you define porn. Right now, porn is often associated with disrespect towards the female actors. And that's definitely not what women want to see.
Haha, I love porn. Unfortunately most of it is very blah to me. I'm always looking for something that seems more realistic. It's hard to find.
...
I think the biggest turn off for a lot of porn to me is that women seem not into it. It's fake and overdone. Obviously porn that appeals to men who just want to watch an attractive woman get pounded is the most watched porn... or is it just that's what they think guys want? Who knows I'm not a guy.
I wondered at that too. I'm not sure it is. The videos of a couple with real chemistry, where both of the actors are really into it, usually get a ton of responses from men too. And it just makes me wonder how big the influence of "the industry" is in the porn we get to see.
I like a lot of different porn. Depends on what kind of mood I'm in. But I'm mostly looking for something where the woman isn't just a cum dumpster or a screaming orifice.

I just want real, which is something porn doesn't really offer. Obviously when two people are having sex and really enjoying theirselves they probably aren't worried about the camera having a clear shot of their genitals. In real life it's about what feels good, not what looks good.
This is something that sometimes annoys me in porn, being "mindful of the camera". I don't care if there isn't a full-on clear shot all the time. It's much more about the passion, being into it, the chemistry together. If the guy twists his leg in an uncomfortable way just so the camera has a good view, it shows he's paying less attention to his female co-star.
I can't stand most porn. I would love to watch a great sex scene where the woman isn't used and moaning like a whore or a really hot scene between two chicks that is actually believable but it's a rare find. I discussed with a friend recently how the only porn where it actually seems like all the participants are having a good time is gay male porn.
There are some pornos around where there's real chemistry between the actors. But they're rare indeed.
I don't know about the gay male porn... there are some good ones around in that genre too, but in the "average" gay porns I found there's too much aggressiveness and often not enough respect between the actors. Genuine passion is great, but a rare find too.
I agree with Aconutim on this one.. I'm not a huge fan of "female" or "female friendly" porn, as well as the lame story-type porn with horrible acting. If I want to see something, I tend to have a more practical look at things: I want to see people have hard, nasty sex. No lame stories, just sex. Though, it has to be sexy - and a scene where either the guy or girl look bored or fake, just isnt sexy at all. I do tend to go for the harder stuff or as close to anything bdsm i can find or feel like at that moment; not that thats something I need to have in my personal sexlife everytime, but I for porn to still be interesting (maybe from having worked in the industry myself) I tend to look for stuff that is a bit out of the norm or can't be faked.
I also like some hentai every now and then, call me a nerd. I dont care. It's hot.
Hmm... never was a fan of hentai myself.
But possibly plays on the imagination more than "real" porn. Definitely not calling you a nerd. If it does it for you, why would anyone judge?
What is portrayed as "female friendly" porn on sites as youporn and the like... is often lesbian scenes or porn with a lame story indeed. Not what I would classify as "female friendly". Definitely not what I would classify as "female porn". And it's one of the reasons I brought this up in the first place... I know how *I* think about these things, but I wondered if there was a common train of thought...
I don't watch porn, because visual stimulation just doesn't do it for me. I think I missed out on the visual stimulation gene. I prefer to read stories. Although, like most women in this thread, I tend to skip the actual story part to get to the hard, nasty sex.
I think a lot of women don't have the visual stimulation gene. Women generally just think different than guys do. A story is all about character development and imagination. It shapes a deeper connection between two characters. Not what you get to see in most porns. There are just about no porn "actors" that can act and carry out a believable storyline in a way you get drawn into the story. ("faking it" is not acting!)
