Sure, we're here to kill time. To that end, however, I believe we're here to share our ideas, learn from and teach each other, and explore new thoughts and possibilities. I wonder why anyone who won't share, teach, learn or explore bothers to post.

    What do you suppose?

Some just don't have your positive outlook - their loss.

I like the banter and the humour also.

You mean, other than to give messages and communicate ideas? Yes, I will agree with your ideas, ego. The purpose of a great message board is great for exploring your own thoughts, and listening to others, sharing ideas and jokes with "friends" online.

However, some people can treat message boards like their own personal toilet. They like to shit in it, and don't really care if it is clean and dirty as long as it is there to shit in.

Even if they show some interest in the topic, it seems that the disruptive posters want to make trouble and disrupt threads, They want to get a rise out of people. They want to make people angry. And when people take the bait, :angryfire2: :angryfire2: :firedevil: :firedevil: flamewars seem to burst into wildfires very quickly here.

I've been on this site short time, but have posted on various boards. mailing lists and discussion groups for over ten years. I haven't seen flaming like this since 1994 in a usenet group.

The ignore button is working well for me. If I don't see the nonsense, I can skip it and get back to what interested me initially about the discussion.

I think the purpose of THIS message board is scrawled on top of the page. This is a board that was allegedly for the support of individuals who either possessed or were affected by large male members. Now we all can see that it has come to also include those who are admirers of the same and who aspire to greatness but it bothers me that the word SUPPORT has slowly disintegrated around here in the interest of what seem to be more personally driven goals and agendas.

There's a great line from a New Order line that says. You can't share without someone else. We all share out thoughts and ideas. You may not like them, or you may.

Teach and learn are two sides of the same coin. You would be surprised what can be taught here, or what you can learn from your best friend here, (who can make you feel betrayed) or worst enemy here. (who may be able to win you over)

As far as explore, that's what we all do when we choose to reply to (or read) a thread.

and we are here to kill time and have fun too.

No we all are not. That is why I started this thread. I don't mind an idea I don't like. You have to get used to those: This is the internet.

I would not be surprised. I'm not talking about people who are freely exchanging ideas, and in so doing learning, teaching, growing. I'm talking about refusing to do so. Making statements of vitriol, but actually sharing something that is not an insult.

Don't over-generalize. We do not all explore when we choose to respond to a thread. If we did, I'd not have brought this topic up. Unless you want to count picking fights. I don't want to count that.

Yes, but a support group is still for exploring, learning, teaching, and especially sharing. The large penis part is irrelevant. It could have been called the Orange Toupee Support Group and it would still be aboput those four principles at its core.

    I agree.

I use it so rarely, but it is in use. Sometimes I can still learn something from someone who is unnecessarily ornery and rude. But If I search and search and can't find anything useful, not even a fun argument, only prejudice and ignorance, then ignore it is. Yeah, the flames can get pretty hot here, but that's because we like to get rid of trolls the old-fashioned way. Sometimes, that doesn't work.

    A'int that the truth?

No, It's everyone's loss, I think. Anything that is a loss to one of us here, ends up being a loss to us all. For better or worse, that's all part of having a community.

I LOVE the humor! That's my favorite thing shared here.
